The 24V Whale Tail Lock with Electronic Actuator is a heavy-duty compression latch designed for truck canopies, service bodies and commercial toolboxes where central locking and reliable security are essential. It combines a traditional keyed whale tail handle with a built-in 24V electronic actuator, allowing compartments to lock and unlock from the vehicle’s remote while still retaining manual key access.
Built from cast steel with a durable black powder-coated finish, it’s designed to withstand harsh worksite and transport environments. The compression latching mechanism pulls the door firmly against the seal to reduce rattles and improve weather resistance, while the fold-down handle conceals the key barrel to help protect it from dust and debris.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the standard Drop T cut-out, making it suitable for both new builds and replacing existing whale tail locks. It’s also compatible with optional locking rod systems for multi-point locking on larger canopy and toolbox doors.
This lock is specifically designed for 24V electrical systems found in trucks, fleet vehicles and commercial service bodies. If your vehicle operates on 12V, the 12V version offers the same design and mounting pattern with the correct voltage actuator.
