The Ultimate9 EVC and evcX throttle controllers plug into the accelerator pedal loom and change the map the ECU sees — wake up a lazy diesel, calm a jumpy petrol, or add an anti-theft lockout that immobilises the throttle. Both are Australian-made and cover every common 4WD, ute and van.

WHAT A THROTTLE CONTROLLER ACTUALLY DOES

Every modern vehicle uses drive-by-wire — press the pedal and a signal tells the ECU how much throttle to open. The factory map is deliberately soft off idle. A throttle controller reshapes that signal so the same pedal input asks for more (or less) throttle immediately. It does not add power. It changes when the power arrives.

EVC vs evcX — WHICH ONE

The EVC is the standalone unit — buttons on the controller, 4 modes (Ultimate, Performance, Economy, Automatic) with 9 levels each. The evcX adds Bluetooth and the Ultimate9 app so you set modes from your phone, plus PIN-code anti-theft that stops the throttle responding until you unlock it. Same performance mapping, different interface.

TOWING, TOURING, DAILY MODES

Economy mode softens the pedal for stop-start traffic and helps on slippery surfaces — also great for a partner who doesn't like the sharpness. Performance and Ultimate modes are what you want when the van is on and you're trying to get up a hill without flooring it. Automatic learns your driving style over time and adjusts within your chosen band.
