A roof conversion trades a static tin roof for a fold-up canvas top so you can stand up inside, cook properly and sleep two adults upstairs. Down, it drives and parks like the factory vehicle; up at camp, it turns a Troopy or HiAce into a proper touring home without the towing weight of a caravan.

Every Headspace conversion is a steel roof frame, heavy-duty Australian canvas, gas struts to lift the top, internal lining to keep the cabin looking finished, and the sealing gaskets to keep water out of the join. The kit is designed to fit the original roof aperture cleanly — not a universal cut-and-hope.

Headspace Roof Conversions in stock: HiAce, D90/110 Defender, LC60, LC76 (both 09/2023+ and 2007-09/2023 GXL and Workmate variants), and LC75/78 (same era coverage). Each fitment is model-specific — a 76 kit does not fit a 78 and vice-versa. If your build has a solar or roof-rack plan, tell us early so we spec the frame to carry it.

Once the roof is on, an awning wants a bracket that ties into the new roof frame, not the factory gutter. The LC78 Headspace side-mount bracket suits a straight-side awning; the LC78 heavy-duty corner bracket handles a 270-degree wrap-around. Both bolt to the Headspace frame directly and are rated for the loads you'll actually pull on them in Perth wind.
