Modern LED driving lights and light bars draw serious current at start-up — up to 40A for a big bar — and modern vehicles run CANbus circuits that reject a hard-spliced tap and drop the light into limp mode. The right harness carries the load with the correct fuse and relay, and the right CANbus interface makes the light look like a factory circuit to the vehicle.

On older vehicles with an H4-style plug (LC200 2016+, D-Max/MU-X pre-Aug 2020, D-Max post-Aug 2020, Ranger/Everest PX2/3, Suzuki Jimny 2018–2020, Fortuner pre-2020 facelift, Prado 150 MY18+ and the Isuzu DMAX May 2024+) an Altiq high-beam piggy-back adaptor takes the trigger without cutting a wire. On newer CANbus vehicles the Canm8 Cannect Highbeam 4 CAN Bus module and the Lazer Lamps CANNY interface read the CAN network directly and give you a clean high-beam trigger and a smart button.

Every harness we sell is relay-and-fuse-based — the switch triggers the relay, and the relay carries the current directly from the battery through the correct-size fuse. Get the fuse sizing wrong and either the light dims (undersized cable) or the fuse never blows when it should (oversized).
