5W UHF CB Radios & Antennas for 4WDs in Perth

A 5W UHF is the legal maximum in Australia and it's what you want in a 4WD. A 1W handheld will do you around town; on station tracks and out through the pilbara, you want every watt talking through a properly-tuned antenna. Every fitted radio we stock is 5W with the full ADR-compliant channel set.

A low-gain antenna (2.1dBi, GME's 580mm Heavy Duty Radome) transmits in a fatter pattern — better for hilly country, station tracks and gorges. A high-gain antenna (6.6dBi, GME's 1200mm Heavy Duty Radome) transmits in a flatter, longer pattern — better for flat plains and open highway convoy. Pick the antenna that matches the country you drive in, not just the biggest one.

GME is Australian designed, built in Sydney, and the XRS Connect range talks over Bluetooth to your phone for firmware updates and channel management. Uniden's XTRAK 80 range is the newer challenger — smart, waterproof, well-priced, and the different value packs (Adventure, Territory, Offroad, Pro 4x4) make it easy to buy a radio with the right antenna included.

For most touring 4WDs, one of the "value pack" or "adventure pack" bundles is the simplest way to buy — GME's TX3500SVP, TX3350UVP, TX3100VP, or Uniden's XTRAK 80 packs all include a matched antenna, cable and mounting hardware. If you already have an antenna, buy the head unit on its own. If you're upgrading a station or twin-cab, the AT970 twin antennas suit dual-antenna setups.
