Nine times out of ten a "bad battery" is actually a bad terminal, a loose lug, or a corroded ground. Cheap stamped terminals lose their grip in a season and pass every problem down the line — voltage drop, hot starts, alternator confusion, warning lights. Brass HD terminals, properly-crimped copper lugs and insulated stud covers cost a few dollars more and last the life of the vehicle.

Standard automotive posts (SAE tapered) suit most car and 4WD batteries. Stud terminals (M6, M8, M10) suit deep cycle, marine and industrial fitments. Get the wrong terminal for your battery and it won't seat properly, won't earth properly and won't torque up. Matson brass HD terminals (stud and cable stud versions) are our default for any serious install — solid brass, positive clamping, no rust. KT Cables 254mm hold-down bolt kits suit the common battery tray fitments. OEX 17mm stud insulators finish the job safely on any exposed terminal. Elevate battery cable joiners in 35mm² let you extend a battery lead cleanly rather than splicing.
