Three beam patterns from one 230mm driving light — Spot for distance, Flood for width, or BEAST mode for both — switched from a rocker on the dash. So the same light does long-range work on an open road and wide fill on a tight bush track without you stopping to change covers.

Lightforce designs and builds the BEAST in Adelaide, and backs it with a 5-year warranty. Rated for Australian conditions: IP69K sealed, IK16 for impact, MIL-STD-810H vibration tested.

What each mode does

Spot — 1,497m throw · 60m wide. Distance at speed on open road.
Flood — 778m throw · 140m wide. Corners and tight bush tracks.
BEAST — 1,375m throw · 140m wide · 13,269 effective lumens. Most total light of the three.

All three run at 5700K — a clean white that holds detail without the yellow cast of a halogen.

The BEAST needs the dedicated wiring harness to operate — it carries the Smart Rocker Switch that gives you the three-mode change, and it is sold separately.

Mounting the lights

Tools needed are a 17mm socket on a ratchet and a torque wrench.
Apply a small amount of anti-seize to the thread of the 35mm mounting bolts before fitting the stainless steel hardware.
Each light uses one M10 x 35mm bolt through the base of the bracket and two M10 x 35mm side bolts. Tighten all of them to 35Nm.
The bracket is reversible and can be rotated 180 degrees for extra clearance and more fitment options.
Mount so the base of the bracket is fully supported, and check the mounting point is rated for the weight of the light.
In extreme conditions, recheck the torque of the mounting bolts and nuts periodically.

Wiring and switching

The dedicated Lightforce BEAST wiring harness is required for the lights to operate and to give the three-mode switching. It is sold separately and comes with the Smart Rocker Switch.
The lights use a DTP 4-pin connector. Harness adapters are available separately if you are fabricating your own loom.

Do not use a rattle gun on the mounting hardware. Only mount driving lights where they are legal to use, and check the road rules in your state.

Q: What do the three modes actually do?
As a pair, Spot reaches 1,497m at 1 lux in a 60m wide beam, which is the mode for distance at speed on an open road. Flood pulls the throw back to 778m but opens the beam to 140m wide, so you see into corners and off the edges of a track. BEAST runs both together for 1,375m of throw at the full 140m width and 13,269 effective lumens, the most total light of the three.

Q: What colour is the light?
5700K, a clean white. It holds colour and detail at distance rather than washing everything yellow the way a halogen does, and it is not so blue that it glares back off dust and fog.

Q: Do I need the wiring harness?
Yes. The BEAST will not operate without the dedicated Lightforce harness, and the harness is what carries the Smart Rocker Switch that changes the mode. It is sold separately.

Q: Will it run on a 24V truck?
Yes. The operating range is 11V to 32V, so the same light suits 12V and 24V systems with no converter.

Q: How much current does the pair draw?
At 13.2V the draw is 11.2A in Spot, 6.5A in Flood and 13A in BEAST mode. Total power is 172W.

Q: How long do the LEDs last?
Lightforce rate the LEDs to 50,000 hours.

Q: What torque do the mounting bolts go to?
35Nm, on a 17mm socket. Each light takes one M10 x 35mm bolt through the base of the bracket and two M10 x 35mm side bolts. Lightforce ask that you put a little anti-seize on the threads first and do not use a rattle gun.

Q: What filters come with them?
Each light comes with a clear filter carrying the Lightforce logo. Filters clip on and off by hand using the tab at the right of the light, so alternative filters can be fitted later without tools.

Q: How much room do I need on the bar?
Each light is 233mm wide, 222mm high and 82mm deep, and 235mm tall once the bracket is counted. The bracket rotates 180 degrees if you need extra clearance.
