TWO BRAKING MODES, ONE DIAL

Proportional inertia sensing for the highway, User Controlled for off-road — flick the dial to switch.

12V AND 24V, 9–32V RANGE

25A on 12V and 30A on 24V, so it drives 12V or 24V electric and electric/hydraulic trailer brakes.

MOUNTS IN ANY ORIENTATION

3-axis accelerometer and Active Calibration let the main unit sit hidden behind the dash in any position.

ADR COMPLIANT

ADR compliant when installed to the instruction manual — legal on Australian roads.

2 YEAR REDARC WARRANTY

Backed by 2 years direct from Redarc. Repair or replacement in accordance with Redarc's warranty policy.

The REDARC Tow-Pro Elite V3 is a premium electric brake controller designed for seamless towing across various terrains. It offers two distinct braking modes:

  • Proportional Mode: Utilizes inertia sensing for smooth, highway driving conditions.

  • User-Controlled Mode: Allows the driver to set the braking force, ideal for off-road or low-traction situations.

This controller is compatible with both electric and electric/hydraulic trailer brakes and supports 12V and 24V systems. Its compact design enables hidden installation behind the dashboard, with only the control knob visible, ensuring a clean and unobtrusive setup.

  • Two braking modes at the turn of a dial: Proportional inertia sensing for everyday highway towing, and User Controlled for off-road descents, sand and mud
  • Active Calibration: self-levels and learns direction of travel automatically, no manual setup
  • 3-axis accelerometer allows the main unit to be mounted in any orientation, hidden behind the dash
  • Compact remote head, dash-mount only
  • Compatible with 12V and 24V vehicle systems, and both electric and electric/hydraulic trailer brakes
  • Works alongside modern electronic stability control systems including AL-KO ESC and Dexter Sway Control
  • ADR compliant when installed to Redarc's instructions

Mounting: main unit mounts inside the vehicle cabin, in any orientation, securely fixed to the vehicle body — not to a cable loom or any surface that vibrates independently. Use M4 screws at the mounting points. The remote head mounts through the dashboard.

Circuit protection: 25A fuse or 30A circuit breaker on the black input wire, fitted as close as possible to the start battery. The Redarc CBK30-EB circuit breaker fits this application. Never wire through an ignition source — direct to start battery positive only.

Cable size: Redarc's supplied harness uses 3.0mm² (12 AWG) on power, brake output and earth, and 1.25mm² (14 AWG) on the brake light trigger and remote head. For runs longer than the supplied loom, step up one cable size.

24V vehicles running 12V electric/hydraulic brakes or ESC systems: a Redarc EB24A adaptor is required to supply the 12V feed.

Installation must be carried out by a suitably trained professional. See the owner manual below for the full wiring diagrams and vehicle-specific requirements.

Suitable for vehicles with 12V or 24V systems.
Compatible with electric and electric/hydraulic trailer brakes.

Q: Does the Tow-Pro Elite V3 work on 12V and 24V vehicles?
A: Yes. The main unit operates from 9V to 32V and drives up to 25A on 12V systems or 30A on 24V systems.

Q: Does it work with electric/hydraulic trailer brakes?
A: Yes. It runs both electric trailer brakes and 12V or 24V electric/hydraulic brake systems. On a 24V vehicle a Redarc EB24A is required to feed the 12V hydraulic pump.

Q: What is the difference between Proportional and User Controlled modes?
A: Proportional Mode uses the internal accelerometer to match trailer braking to the tow vehicle — the everyday highway setting. User Controlled Mode lets you brake the trailer independently of the vehicle using the dial, which is useful on steep descents, in sand, mud or snow.

Q: Where does the main unit mount?
A: Hidden inside the vehicle cabin, in any orientation. Only the small remote head sits on the dash. Do not mount to the firewall, cable looms or any surface that vibrates independently of the vehicle body.

Q: What fuse size do I need?
A: Redarc specify a 25A fuse or 30A circuit breaker on the black input wire, connected direct to the start battery positive — never through an ignition source.

Q: What cable size for the run to the battery?
A: Redarc's supplied harness uses 3.0mm² (12 AWG) on the power, output and earth wires and 1.25mm² (14 AWG) on the brake light trigger and remote head wiring. For longer runs, step up to the next size.

Q: Do I need to calibrate the controller?
A: No. Active Calibration self-levels the unit and learns the direction of travel automatically. No manual level setting is required.

Q: Is it ADR compliant?
A: Yes, when installed to Redarc's printed instructions.

Q: Does it work with modern electronic stability control systems?
A: Yes. The Tow-Pro Elite is compatible with AL-KO ESC, Dexter Sway Control and similar systems.

Q: How many axles can it drive?
A: Up to 3 axles.
