The Bushman DC225L-X is the largest upright in Bushman's Heavy Duty DC-L range. Built on the same platform as the DC190L-X, it adds 35 litres of fridge capacity — 180 litres of fridge to a separate 45 litre freezer — for full-time caravan or motorhome use where a family or a couple on a long trip needs the room.
It runs a genuine Secop Danfoss BD80CN High Capacity compressor paired with a full copper cooling system. Every internal refrigeration line is copper — over 15 metres of it — because most compressor fridge failures happen where aluminium is welded to copper, and Bushman have removed that failure point. The whole unit is climate class 'T' tropical, rated to hold temperature in ambients up to 43°C. Power consumption sits around 2.4 amp hours per hour at 25°C, rising to about 3.4 at 35°C.
Insulation is deliberately thick — 80mm around the freezer, 50mm around the fridge — which is what keeps the average draw down across a full day. Inside you get adjustable lockable shelves, wide door balconies sized for 2 litre milk bottles, and an internal fridge fan that runs whenever the door is closed to even out the temperature top to bottom. There is a T-latch inside the crisper tub that must be fitted for mobile installations.
A mounting kit is supplied along with a 2.3 metre Anderson lead. Bushman support three mounting methods: six internal M5 sleeves through the cabinet, the supplied two-piece mounting kit, or bolting through two rear chassis holes for extra support in a mobile fit-out. Ventilation matters more on a fridge this size: 2 vents of 600cm² free area each, one at the bottom and one at the top of the cavity. Run it on its own dedicated circuit straight back to your battery bank.
The DC225L-X is 1550mm tall and 57kg. If your cabinet opening is under 1.5 metres, the smaller DC190L-X shares the same platform, compressor and 45 litre freezer at 1380mm tall and 53kg.
