A stainless steel bracket that mounts the ARB Twin Air Tank under a Toyota Landcruiser 78 Series on the rear driver's side. Uses factory body-mount bolt holes so the tank sits out of the way under the chassis and frees up tub or canopy space. Suits owners pairing an ARB CKMTA12 twin compressor with the 4L air tank for recovery, tyre inflation and air-tool work in the field.

Pressed and folded from 3 mm stainless steel in a natural brushed finish, bare and uncoated so it stays corrosion-resistant through gravel-road salt, mud and bush spray without a powder-coat skin to chip. The bracket bolts up through the existing body-mount holes under the rear driver's side; no drilling or cutting into the chassis. Weighs 2 kg.

Some aftermarket suspension setups foul the bracket slightly, and the diff grease nipple above the mount point sometimes needs to come out for clearance. Mock the tank up before torqueing bolts, and bring it to our workshop if you'd rather we fit it.

Pairs with

  • Stainless steel — bare 304 natural brushed finish
  • 78 Series fit — bolts to factory body-mount holes
  • ARB Twin Tank mount — carries the 4L CKMTA12 tank
  • Underbody position — rear driver's side, out of the tub
  • 3 mm plate — holds the tank through corrugations
  • Corrosion-proof — bare stainless, no coat to chip
  • Elevate fabrication — welded and finished in Perth
  • 3-year warranty — against manufacturing defects

Q: What is a tank mounting bracket?
It's a steel or stainless plate pre-shaped and pre-drilled to hold an air tank in a specific position on a specific vehicle. You bolt the bracket to the chassis or body through factory holes, then clamp the tank to the bracket, instead of fabricating a one-off mount from scratch.

Q: What is the ARB Twin Air Tank?
It's the 4-litre aluminium reservoir that pairs with the ARB CKMTA12 twin on-board air compressor. The tank buffers compressor output, so bead-seating a tyre, running air tools or inflating four tyres in sequence happens from a stored volume rather than straight off the pump. This bracket is designed around the current (new) version of that tank.

Q: Will this fit the old version of the ARB Twin Tank?
No. The clamp dimensions and strap positions on the current ARB tank are different from the superseded version, so this bracket is cut to suit the new tank only.

Q: Will it fit any other LandCruiser Series?
Primarily the 78 Series Workmate and GXL (2007 to 09/2023 and 09/2023+). The 76 Series wagon and 79 Series ute share a similar underbody geometry and often take the same bracket, but suspension lifts, long-range tanks and aftermarket chassis gear change clearance, so measure before ordering. Not for LC200, LC300 or Prado.

Q: Does the install need drilling into the chassis?
No. The bracket is pre-drilled to use existing body-mount bolt holes under the rear driver's side. You pull the factory bolts, place the bracket, run the bolts back through the bracket into the original threads.

Q: Does the install need chassis cutting or welding?
No. Everything bolts on. The bracket is designed for a reversible install, so the vehicle goes back to standard if you ever sell the tank.

Q: Will the bracket clear my aftermarket suspension?
Mostly yes, but some lifted-rear setups and some aftermarket panhard or sway-bar brackets foul the mount slightly. The diff grease nipple directly above the mount point also sometimes needs to come out for clearance. Mock the tank up before torqueing bolts; if there's a conflict, a 2-3 mm packer under the bracket usually clears it, or bring the vehicle through our workshop and we'll fit it.

Q: Why stainless steel instead of powder-coated steel?
Underbody brackets on a 78 Series live in gravel-road salt, mud and bush spray. Powder-coat eventually chips at the bolt lugs and strap edges, and once bare steel is exposed it starts rusting under the coat. Bare 304 stainless skips that failure mode: no coating to chip, no rust creep, nothing to re-paint.

Q: Does mounting hardware come in the box?
The box contains the bracket itself. The bolts you use are the factory body-mount bolts that are already in the vehicle, so no new hardware is supplied. If a bolt has been previously removed and lost, any M10 x 1.25 body-mount bolt in the correct length will fit (or we can supply one at the workshop).

Q: Can your workshop fit it for me?
Yes. Our Perth workshop installs ARB twin compressor systems weekly and will mount the tank, bracket, air lines and electrical as a package. Call or message to book, and tell us whether you're bringing a new CKMTA12 kit or an existing compressor already fitted.
