Common questions
What's the difference between a portable power station and a fixed dual battery?+
A portable power station packages the aux battery, DC-DC charger, solar regulator and outputs into a self-contained box you can lift out. A fixed dual battery lives under the bonnet or in the tray. Portable is quicker to install and moves between vehicles; fixed is cleaner if the vehicle is your only rig.
What size air compressor do I need for 4WD tyres?+
For 33" tyres a 100L/min compressor inflates in about 2 minutes per tyre. For 35" or bigger, look at 150L/min+ or a twin motor unit. Duty cycle matters more than peak flow — pick a compressor rated for continuous use if you'll be doing multiple tyres.
What recovery gear should I carry for touring?+
The essentials: snatch strap (matched to vehicle weight), bow shackles or soft shackles, recovery tracks, a shovel, gloves, and a UHF radio. Add a hi-lift jack or exhaust jack if you're going remote. Every touring vehicle should also carry a first-aid kit and satellite communicator.
Do you install overlanding fitouts?+
Yes — our Perth workshop does full overland fitouts every week. Drawers, water tanks, dual batteries, fridge slides, roof platforms, awning mounts, comms. Bring your vehicle in for a scope and we'll quote based on what you're building.
Fridge, freezer, or dual-zone?+
Depends on how you camp. Solo weekender: a 40–45L fridge is plenty. Couple + week away: 60–75L dual-zone with fridge + freezer sections. Family + long tour: 95L+ dual-zone or a fridge/freezer combo. Add a slide out mount so you can actually get to the food.
Everything you need for overlanding in Australia
Overlanding is self-reliant travel — days or weeks off the grid, in the vehicle you drive to work in. That means power, water, food storage, recovery gear and comms all built into a rig you can actually live out of. Every product in this collection is one we install at our Perth workshop, tested in the conditions you'll take it into.
Portable power for off-grid touring
At the heart of any overlander is a dual battery system or portable power station running a fridge, lights, laptop and comms without draining the starter battery. We build systems around 200Ah LiFePO₄ and pair them with 40A or 50A DC-DC chargers, MPPT solar controllers, and pure sine wave inverters when you need 240V.
Air compressors, recovery, tyre gear
A good compressor is non-negotiable for 4WD touring — dropping tyre pressures for sand, mud, and rocky tracks then re-inflating for the highway. We stock ARB, Bushranger, Adventure Kings and other trusted brands from 100L/min to 300L/min twin motor units. Pair with recovery tracks, snatch straps, soft shackles and a proper jack.
Storage: drawers, fridge slides, water tanks
A touring rig lives or dies by how organised it is. Slide-out drawers, dedicated fridge platforms, water tanks with pressure pumps and plumbing kits — proper storage means less unpacking at every camp and gear that stays where you put it. We work with National Luna, Front Runner, Rhino Rack and Aussie fabricators to build tidy, purpose-built fit-outs.
Installed at our Perth workshop
Every overlanding product we sell is one we install. Full custom fit-outs, dual-battery systems, drawer installs, water tank plumbing, compressor mounts, roof platforms — book installation and drive away with a rig ready for the next trip.
