ISUZU DMAX / MU-X / MAZDA BT-50 3.0L 4JJ3 Front Mount Intercooler – 08/2020+
The Front Mount Intercooler for the 3.0L 4JJ3 Isuzu D-MAX, MU-X and Mazda BT-50 (08/2020 onwards) is designed to significantly improve cooling efficiency, engine performance and reliability compared to the factory intercooler.
Featuring a large bar and plate intercooler core measuring 600mm x 300mm x 76mm, this upgraded unit offers substantially more cooling capacity than the OEM intercooler, helping maintain consistent intake air temperatures even during heavy loads, towing or off-road driving.
During testing, the upgraded intercooler maintained cold side intake temperatures of around 40°C, compared to 65–70°C from the factory intercooler, demonstrating significantly improved resistance to heat soak and sustained performance under load.
Lower intake temperatures allow the engine to run more efficiently, improving power delivery, reliability and overall engine performance, particularly when the vehicle is worked hard.
The kit also includes larger 2.5" alloy intercooler piping, replacing the smaller factory 2" piping to improve airflow and reduce restriction.
Designed for durability in harsh conditions, the intercooler features cast alloy end tanks, heavy duty CNC mounting brackets and high quality silicone hoses, ensuring long-term reliability for both touring and performance applications.
