A powder-coated black aluminium bracket that shifts the factory fuse box from the right side of the engine bay to the left, so a dual battery tray can slide in where the fuse box used to sit. Fits Toyota LandCruiser 79 Series Workmate and GXL cabs across the 2007-09/2023 and 09/2023+ wiring looms. Uses the factory fuse-box fasteners once the new mounting pad lines up on the inner guard.

The bracket is powder-coated black aluminium with pre-drilled mount points for the factory fuse-box feet, raised ribs that clear the inner-guard pressings, and a loom routing cut-out on the lower edge so the harness curves across without kinking. The bolt pack to secure the fuse box to the bracket and the bracket to the inner guard ships with every unit.

Measure the loom slack before dropping the fuse box onto the new mount. On some trims the harness runs short and needs a brief extension to reach the left side cleanly. Fit the dual battery tray after the fuse box is relocated and the loom is dressed back, not before.

Pairs with

  • Vehicle-specific fit — pre-drilled for the LC79 factory fuse-box feet
  • Left-side mount — clears the right-side space for a dual battery tray
  • Aluminium construction — powder-coated black for engine-bay corrosion resistance
  • Loom routing cut-out — keeps the factory harness unkinked across the shift
  • Bolt-on fit — no welding or cutting on the vehicle
  • Factory fasteners — reuses OEM fuse-box mounting hardware
  • Full cab coverage — Workmate and GXL, 2007-09/2023 and 09/2023+
  • Hardware included — bolt pack supplied with every bracket

Q: What does this bracket actually do?
Moves the factory fuse box from the right-hand side of the LC79 engine bay to the left-hand side, which frees up the right-side space for a dual battery tray and auxiliary battery. The vehicle wiring, fuses and fuse box itself stay standard; only the mounting location changes.

Q: What is a DBT?
4WD shorthand for Dual Battery Tray — the metal cradle that holds a second (auxiliary) battery alongside the factory starter battery under the bonnet. On the LC79 the only workable location for one is where the factory fuse box currently sits, which is why the fuse box has to move first.

Q: Does this fit my 79 Series?
Fits Workmate and GXL cab 79 Series from 2007-09/2023 and from 09/2023+. The physical bracket is the same across both loom generations; the loom routing may differ slightly between the pre and post-09/2023 facelift wiring.

Q: Is any cutting or welding needed?
No. The bracket is a bolt-on fit using the factory fuse-box feet and existing threaded points on the left inner guard. No modification to the vehicle sheet-metal, no cutting, no welding.

Q: Does the mounting hardware come included?
Yes. The bolt pack to secure the fuse box to the new bracket and the bracket to the inner guard is supplied. The ASM suffix on the SKU reflects that this is a complete assembly kit, not just a bare bracket.

Q: What dual battery tray does this clear space for?
Our Toyota 70 Series Dual Battery Tray (which also fits 79 Series same-chassis variants) sits in the right-hand position after relocation. Confirm your tray's footprint matches the available right-side space before you commit.

Q: Will the factory loom reach the new location?
Usually yes — the factory harness has enough slack to route across to the left side. On trims where the harness runs tight, a short loom extension may be needed. Measure the slack before you commit the bracket location.

Q: Can this be installed without a workshop?
Yes if you're comfortable with basic 12V electrical work. Allow a couple of hours to shift the fuse box, dress the loom back and fit the DBT afterward. Workshop install is the sensible call if you're not confident identifying factory harness clips and routing.

Q: Does the bracket come painted or raw?
Powder-coated black for engine-bay corrosion resistance. The finish holds up against heat, moisture and the usual under-bonnet grime.

Q: Does this affect factory warranty?
It's a non-destructive bolt-on relocation using the factory fuse-box fasteners — the fuse box itself and the vehicle wiring aren't modified. Dealership response to any aftermarket install varies by dealer, so photograph the install and keep the receipt if you want a clean paper trail.
