A complete 12-circuit Deutsch DT flange-mount connector kit that carries an IP68 sealed 12-way panel pass-through in one bag. Wires a full 12-signal loom between a chassis, bulkhead or panel and the harness behind it. Fits 4WD dash pass-throughs, marine helm looms, camper power distribution boxes, trailer wiring hubs and any custom loom that needs to survive water, dust, heat and vibration.

Contacts are size-16 stamped, rated 13A each at 125°C. The two housings mate with silicone perimeter seals and lock with two colour-keyed wedgelocks (one green, one yellow) so pin-to-socket alignment cannot get crossed on assembly. The flange face is the standard L012 pattern with M4 pass-through holes at 44.96 by 41.83mm centres.

Every unused cavity needs a sealing plug fitted before the IP68 rating holds. Use a Deutsch DT solid-contact crimper on the pins and sockets; open-barrel automotive crimpers will not close a DT contact correctly and the joint will back out under vibration. When all 12 pins are loaded continuously in a hot engine bay, budget about 8 to 9A per contact rather than the peak 13A rating.

  • 12 sealed circuits — every contact IP68 sealed
  • 13A per contact — full 12-way capability
  • Flange mount face — L012 panel pattern
  • Colour-keyed wedges — prevents crossed assembly
  • Complete kit — plug, receptacle, wedges, contacts
  • Field serviceable — standard DT crimper only

12-circuit sealed panel connector for DT-series wiring
12V, 24V, 36V and 48V DC automotive and marine systems

Q: What is a Deutsch DT connector and where is it used?
The DT series is the workhorse Deutsch connector line for sealed automotive, marine and off-road wiring. Every OEM harness under a bonnet uses them, every serious aftermarket wiring loom uses them, and any custom install that has to survive water, dust, heat and vibration uses them.

Q: How much current can each pin carry at once?
13A per contact at 125°C, per the DT series spec. That is the design rating for each contact loaded to steady state. Real total across all 12 pins depends on how many are loaded simultaneously (see the derating question below).

Q: What wire size fits the size-16 contacts?
16 to 20 AWG, roughly 0.5 to 1.5mm² conductor. Match the crimp barrel to the copper. Go too small and the barrel will not close on the wire. Go too big and the copper will not fit.

Q: What does IP68 mean here?
Protection against dust and against continuous water immersion beyond 1m depth. The rating holds when the plug is mated to the receptacle and every unused cavity is plugged with a sealing plug. Leave a cavity open and the seal is compromised.

Q: What is the mount hole pattern?
The L012 flange footprint. M4 pass-through holes at 44.96 by 41.83mm centres. The full drill drawing is on the second product image so a cut-out can be marked out on the panel before any metalwork happens.

Q: Do the wedgelocks matter?
Yes. The green and yellow wedgelocks lock the contacts into their cavities after they are seated. Without them, corrugations back the pins out and the joint opens intermittently. Colour-coding also prevents the plug wedgelock from ending up in the receptacle body and vice versa.

Q: Can I use this on a 24V or 48V system?
Yes. The Deutsch DT rating is a current spec, not a voltage spec. 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V DC systems are all inside the design envelope as long as each pin carries 13A or less.

Q: Do I need a special crimper?
A Deutsch DT solid-contact crimper is the correct tool. Ratchet-style open-barrel crimpers used for standard automotive terminals will not close a DT contact correctly, and the joint will fail under vibration or a firm cable pull.

Q: Is this a genuine TE Deutsch kit?
This is a Deutsch-compatible kit distributed for the Australian trade market, not a TE-branded original. It mates with genuine DT plugs and receptacles, uses the same L012 flange pattern and the same size-16 stamped contacts.

Q: What is the total current if I load every pin?
The 13A per pin figure is the individual contact rating. When many pins are loaded simultaneously, per the Deutsch DT derating chart the sustained per-contact figure drops. Rule of thumb: budget about 8 to 9A per pin if all 12 are loaded continuously in a hot engine bay.
