A sealed 250-series 2-way connector kit in black, with tin-plated brass terminals sized for 3-4mm² (16-14 AWG) automotive wire. Used wherever a small accessory or switch panel needs a clean, releasable plug rather than butt-splices or crimped joins.

The 250-series is a common industry pattern for low-current auxiliary wiring, switch panels, small pumps, LED bars and other accessory loads. Tin-plated brass contacts resist corrosion in engine-bay, canopy and marine environments where bare-copper crimps would tarnish. The housing is rated well beyond typical automotive temperatures, so it handles underbonnet and enclosed panel installs without softening.

Crimp the supplied terminals with a matching 250-series ratchet crimper sized for 16-14 AWG, then push each terminal into the housing until it locks. Housings only mate with matching 250-series housings, mismatched series will not physically engage.

  • 250-series 2-way — industry-standard low-current auxiliary connector
  • Tin-plated brass — corrosion-resistant contacts for engine-bay and marine use
  • 3-4mm² wire range — sized for 16-14 AWG automotive cable
  • Wide temperature range — rated -40 to +120°C for underbonnet installs
  • Releasable disconnect — unclip to service a switch panel or accessory without cutting wires

240V AC mains circuits — must use an EESS-registered mains connector installed under EC17073

Q: What is a 250-series connector?
It is a widely used low-current automotive connector pattern named after the 6.3mm (0.250 inch) blade terminal it uses. You see it on aftermarket switch panels, small pumps, LED bars, accessory leads and manufacturer wiring across most auto and 4WD brands.

Q: Does this fit any 250-series 2-way plug?
Mechanically yes, this housing mates with any matching 250-series 2-way housing of the same pattern. Compatibility with a specific piece of equipment (a switch, a pump, a hub) still depends on that equipment using the same 250-series plug, so check the mating half before you cut the loom.

Q: What wire size does it take?
3-4mm² automotive cable, which is 16-14 AWG. Thinner wire will pull out of the crimp under vibration, thicker wire will not seat in the terminal barrel.

Q: What amperage will it carry?
250-series 2-way is a low-current auxiliary connector. Typical published ratings for tin-plated brass 250-series terminals are around 10-15A per circuit at automotive DC voltages, and the safe working current is set by the cable it is fed with. For higher-current accessories (winches, inverters, DC-DC chargers) fit an Anderson-style 50A plug or a purpose-built high-current connector instead.

Q: What voltage systems can I use it on?
Fine on 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V automotive DC. Not for 240V AC mains circuits under any circumstances — that is licensed electrical work.

Q: Do I need a special crimp tool?
Use a 250-series terminal crimper sized for 16-14 AWG. A generic auto-electrical crimper will squash the terminal but rarely gives a proper mechanical grip, and the crimp is the weak point where connectors fail. A ratchet-style terminal crimper is worth the money if you install these regularly.

Q: Is this a sealed connector?
The housing is closed on the wire side so it resists splash and dust once mated, but it is not a full IP-rated waterproof plug like a Deutsch DT-series. For fully sealed installs (chassis exposure, underbody, wet canopy locations) step up to a Deutsch DT-style 2-way instead.

Q: How do I service a connector already in place?
Release the latch on the housing and pull the two halves apart, then use a small pick or terminal-release tool to slide each contact back out of the housing. Contacts are reusable if they are not corroded or overheated, otherwise fit a fresh one and re-crimp.

Q: Why does it need to be a matched pair?
Male and female 250-series housings look similar but are keyed differently, so a male 2-way will not seat in a female 2-way housing from a different pattern. This kit is a complete matched pair, which is why it is sold as a kit rather than as separate housings.
