This adapter takes a single Anderson-style SB50 plug on the incoming side and splits it into two 50A SB50 plugs on the outgoing side. It lets one source cable feed two accessories at once, such as a fridge and a lighting loom, a jump-start lead and a charge run, or a battery box that runs two things off the same trailer plug.

The run is 600mm of 6mm² tinned copper twin, with terminations pre-crimped and heat-shrunk at the factory. Terminals are silver-plated inside a polycarbonate housing, and the twin cores run through a UV-treated flame-retardant corrugated loom for outdoor use.

Total current across the two branches is limited by the single feeding plug, so size the source-side fuse for the sum of the two loads and check the plugs are fully seated before switching anything on.

Pairs with

  • Anderson-style SB50 — three genuine-pattern 50A plugs
  • One in, two out — single source feeds two loads
  • Tinned copper 6mm² — comfortable current headroom
  • 600mm working length — enough slack for boot and canopy runs
  • UV-treated loom — flame-retardant sleeve for outdoor use
  • Silver-plated terminals — low resistance across each join

Anderson-style SB50 splitter, one plug in to two plugs out
12V, 24V and 48V DC systems
Mains AC (240V)

Q: What is an Anderson-style SB50 plug?
SB50 is a small-block, two-pole, genderless DC connector originally designed by Anderson Power Products and now made by many manufacturers to the same physical pattern. Both halves are the same shape so either end can plug into the other, and they carry automotive current on the order of 50A.

Q: How much total current can the splitter carry?
The single feeding plug is the bottleneck at 50A, so the sum of what the two outgoing plugs draw at once must stay under that. Two 20A loads is comfortable, one 40A load and one 10A is fine, and two 40A loads together would overload the source-side plug.

Q: What cable size is used and why does it matter?
The run is 6mm² tinned copper, which carries around 45A comfortably at 12V over this length. That matches the SB50's 50A rating with a small margin so the cable is not the limiting factor.

Q: Do I fuse the source side or each branch?
Fuse the source side close to the battery, sized for the sum of the two branches under load. Individual branch fuses at each accessory are optional and make sense when the two loads are very different sizes.

Q: What voltage range does it work across?
Designed for 12V, 24V and 48V DC systems typical of automotive, marine and small off-grid setups. The SB50 pattern is a low-voltage DC connector and is not for mains AC.

Q: Can I use it to run a fridge and a lighting circuit off the same trailer plug?
Yes, this is the common pattern. One 50A SB50 feeds the splitter from a battery box or a trailer plug, and the two branches drop off to the fridge and to whatever else you are running. Watch the sum of the loads.

Q: How weather-resistant is it?
The SB50 pattern is splash-tolerant but not sealed, so the splitter wants to sit under a bonnet, inside a canopy or inside a caravan cabinet rather than exposed to weather.

Q: Is this a genuine Anderson product?
The plugs are Anderson-style, the same physical pattern that mates with a genuine Anderson SB50 without issue. If you specifically need genuine Anderson-branded plugs, ask us before ordering.
