A 125Ah sealed AGM deep-cycle battery that powers caravan house loads, 4WD dual-battery setups, marine systems and off-grid solar banks through hundreds of discharge cycles. Runs a 12V fridge, LED lighting, water pumps, inverters up to around 1,100W and USB charging without topping up water or sitting dead flat overnight. Fits under-tray, canopy, caravan battery-box and marine installations in the 407 × 177 × 225mm footprint.

Sealed in an ABS case with integrated carry handles, M8 insert terminals in D polarity (positive at right) and central venting with flame arrestors. Internal plates are heavy-grid AGM under pressure-valve regulation, with vibration-resistant construction for mobile use. Weighs 35kg. Mounts upright or on its side up to 90° off vertical, never inverted or end-mounted.

Pair it with a DC-DC charger sized at or below the ~36A max charge rate (a 25 to 40A unit suits). Float voltage runs 13.6 to 13.8V at 25°C; never trickle-charge with an automotive bench charger that runs higher or you'll gas the cells. This is a deep-cycle plate design, not a starter battery, so pair it alongside a cranking battery via DC-DC rather than wiring in parallel.

  • Sealed AGM — zero spill, zero maintenance, mounts up to 90° off vertical
  • M8 insert terminals — accepts ring-lug cable up to 70mm² without adapters
  • Carry handles — moves a 35kg battery safely between hands
  • Deep cycle plate design — handles repeated 50% discharge, around 1,500 cycles
  • Flame arrestor vent — safe inside caravan or canopy battery boxes
  • Vibration-resistant build — handles corrugations without plate damage

Mount upright, on its side or at any angle up to 90° off vertical. Never invert or end-mount. Secure the battery in a vibration-dampened battery box or hold-down tray so it cannot shift under load. Keep clearance around the central vent for airflow.

Torque M8 terminal bolts to 8-10 Nm with a stainless washer under each lug. Overtightening cracks the insert; undertightening cooks the lug.

Charge from a DC-DC charger set to an AGM profile with 14.4-14.7V bulk and 13.6-13.8V float, sized at or below the ~36A max charge rate. Standard automotive bench chargers that run at a higher voltage will gas the cells and void the warranty.

If mounting under the bonnet, use a heat-shielded box and keep ambient under 50°C. AGM batteries lose cycle life rapidly above 40°C sustained.

Fits caravan house-battery compartments, 4WD canopy and under-tray dual-battery setups, marine deep-cycle positions and off-grid solar storage banks within the 407 × 177 × 225mm envelope.
12V DC house systems
Dual-battery setups when paired via a DC-DC charger
Caravan, camper trailer and canopy battery boxes
Marine house (lighting, pumps, electronics) and trolling motor banks
Off-grid solar storage up to the ~36A charge rating
Not for engine cranking, this is a deep-cycle plate design and not a starter battery
Not for 24V series stacking unless each cell voltage is matched and monitored
Not for installation under a hot engine bay without heat shielding

Q: What does AGM actually mean?
A: Absorbed Glass Mat. The acid is held in fibreglass separators between the plates instead of sloshing around as liquid. No spill, no venting under normal operation, no top-ups, safer mounting in enclosed spaces, and better vibration tolerance for 4WD and marine use.

Q: What does C20 mean when the label says 125Ah?
A: The 125Ah figure is measured by discharging the battery steadily over a 20-hour period until it hits 10.5V (1.75V per cell). Pull current faster and you'll get less than 125Ah usable; pull slower and you'll get slightly more. Design your system around C20 and you'll get what the label says.

Q: Can I use this as a starting battery?
A: No. Deep-cycle plates are thicker and designed for a sustained draw over hours, not the sudden 400-600A hit a starter motor needs. Use it alongside a dedicated cranking battery, with a DC-DC charger between them, not in place of one.

Q: What size DC-DC charger should I pair with it?
A: Match the charger to roughly C/4 to C/5, so a 25A to 40A DC-DC suits a 125Ah battery. A 25A unit charges a flat battery in about 6 hours of driving; a 40A unit halves that. Don't exceed the ~36A max charge rate on bulk.

Q: How many cycles will I actually get?
A: Around 1,500 cycles if you only ever discharge to 50% (down to ~12.0V resting), closer to 800 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, and under 400 cycles if you regularly run it flat. Depth of discharge is the biggest lever on battery life, so oversize the capacity to stay above 50%.

Q: Can I mount it on its side?
A: Yes, up to 90° off vertical. The sealed AGM construction and pressure-valve regulation mean the acid stays in the glass mat and the cells don't vent liquid. Never invert the battery or mount it end-up; that puts the vent at an angle it isn't designed for.

Q: What cable size should I run to it?
A: Depends on your load. For a 40A DC-DC input/output over a 3-metre cable run, 8mm² (8 B&S) is fine. For a 1,000W inverter drawing 90A at 12V over a short run, step up to 16mm² (4 B&S). For anything above 100A sustained, go to 25mm² or heavier.

Q: Does it need a battery box?
A: Not for sealing or venting (the battery handles that), but yes for mechanical protection and vibration dampening. A proper battery box with a hold-down strap or clamp stops the battery sliding, shorts the terminals from loose tools, and keeps load straps off the posts.

Q: What's the difference between XDA and the older DA range?
A: XDA is Century's current-generation AGM Deep Cycle with M8 insert terminals, improved cycle life and a 36-month warranty. The older DA line used lower-torque terminals and shorter warranty terms. Same physical case footprint for direct replacement, but the XDA accepts higher-current ring lugs without adapters.
