A 165Ah sealed AGM deep cycle battery that holds charge for long auxiliary runs and recovers quickly between recharges. Powers caravan 12V systems, dual-battery setups, marine house loads, mobility equipment and off-grid solar banks. The 20-hour rate matches real deep-cycle use rather than short cranking bursts.

Built around thick-plate AGM construction with glass-mat separators that lock the electrolyte away from the terminals, so acid cannot spill. The ABS flame-retardant case carries recessed carry handles, a central vent with flame arrestor, pressure-regulated valves, and M8 insert terminals (front positive). Measures 532 by 207 by 214mm (219mm over terminals) and weighs 50kg. Mounts in any orientation except flat on its back.

This is a deep cycle battery, not a cranking battery. Pair it with a proper DC-DC charger to recover between trips. Do not mount under the bonnet. Keep cyclic charge voltage inside 14.6 to 14.8V and limit charge current to 48A so the plates last the full cycle count.

⚠ Do not: install this battery under the bonnet. Century voids the warranty on under-bonnet installation and the heat shortens AGM life sharply. House-battery installs belong in the cab, tub, canopy, caravan or cabin.

  • AGM sealed design — spill-proof, mounts to 90°
  • Thick-plate cycling — ~1,500 cycles at 50% DOD
  • M8 insert terminals — torque-stable heavy-load connection
  • ABS flame-retardant case — UL94-HB with carry handles cast in
  • Central vent + arrestor — safe venting under hard charging

Mount in any orientation except flat on its back. Secure with a hold-down to resist vibration. Allow airflow around the case during charging. Do not install under the bonnet; doing so voids Century's warranty.

Confirm 12V F polarity (positive terminal at the front) before cabling. Tighten M8 terminal bolts to 10 to 12 Nm. Set the charger to AGM profile with cyclic voltage between 14.6-14.8V and maximum charge current of 48A.

Fits caravans, camper trailers, 5th-wheelers, motor homes, boats with house-bank systems, mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs, off-grid solar banks and cabin power systems. Pairs with 12V DC house loads via a DC-DC charger or AGM-compatible mains charger.

Q: What does AGM actually mean?
Absorbed Glass Mat. Fibreglass separators soak up the acid like a sponge so nothing sloshes around. The battery is sealed, spill-proof and tolerates vibration far better than a flooded wet-cell.

Q: What does 165Ah @ C20 mean?
The C20 rate assumes you draw the battery flat over 20 hours. 165Ah at C20 means 8.25A continuous for 20 hours. Draw harder and you get less; draw lighter and you get more.

Q: Can I use this as a cranking battery?
No. Deep cycle batteries have thicker plates built for slow, deep discharge. Cranking an engine on one damages the plates and shortens its life. Use a Hi Performance or dual-purpose battery for engine starting.

Q: Can I mount this on its side?
Yes, up to 90 degrees in any direction. The AGM design keeps the acid locked in the glass mat. Do not mount it flat on its back.

Q: Can I install this under the bonnet?
No. Century voids the warranty on under-bonnet installation. Engine-bay heat shortens AGM life sharply. House-battery installs belong in the cab, tub, canopy, caravan or cabin.

Q: How do I charge it?
Set your charger to AGM profile. Keep cyclic charge voltage between 14.6 and 14.8V and limit charge current to 48A. A DC-DC charger paired to the vehicle alternator is the usual setup; a mains AGM charger covers it when parked.

Q: What is the real cycle life?
Around 1,500 cycles when discharged to 50% between recharges. Push to 80% depth of discharge and that drops to around 600 cycles. Shallower discharges always extend life.

Q: Does it need a battery box?
Not for enclosed cabinets with the central vent clear. For outdoor or dusty installs, a vented box is good insurance. Keep the terminals accessible for inspection.

Q: What size cable do I need to run it?
Size for the maximum continuous load at the inverter or DC-DC, not the fuse rating. 100A loads at 2m need 25mm² or heavier. 50A loads at 2m need 10 to 16mm².
