A 75Ah dual-purpose AGM battery that cranks the engine like a starter battery and runs the fridge, lights and inverter like a deep cycle. Delivers 730 cold cranking amps for repeat engine starts and 140 minutes reserve capacity for accessory loads at idle. Fits 4x4 and SUV dual-battery trays, caravan house-battery boxes, marine centre consoles, RV and camper trailer electrics in the standard 24 case size. Suits owners running one battery that does both jobs instead of a split dual-battery system.

AGM chemistry so the electrolyte sits in glass-fibre mats rather than sloshing around as a liquid. Full-frame cast plates with Platelock internal bracing for vibration resistance under-bonnet and on corrugated 4WD tracks. 260 by 174 by 200mm polypropylene case (221mm total height to terminal tops), standard tapered posts with wing-nut secondary terminals for straight bolt-on and extra accessory connections. 21.5kg sealed and maintenance free. C polarity (negative at the left, positive at the right).

Not an EFB or ISS-rated AGM. Not suitable as a direct replacement for the starter battery in a Stop-Start vehicle, which needs chemistry matched to the vehicle's BMS. Install the battery upright, not on its side. For 4WDs needing more deep-cycle headroom and a dedicated starter, run a split system: a cranking battery for the engine and a dedicated deep cycle for the house.

  • Dual-purpose AGM — starts the engine and runs the house
  • 730 CCA — cold-weather cranking headroom
  • 140 min RC — fridge and lights at camp
  • Platelock plates — vibration-braced under-bonnet and off-road
  • STD/WN multi-terminal — primary cables plus accessory wing-nut taps
  • Sealed AGM — no venting, no acid spill
  • Made in Australia — Century Villawood plant, 24-month warranty

Install upright, not on its side or angled. Confirm the battery tray fits 260 × 174 × 200mm (221mm to top of terminals) and has clearance for cable lugs on the primary posts. Wing-nut secondary terminals accept accessory tap cables; torque the wing nuts hand-tight plus a quarter-turn with a spanner.

After fitting, let the vehicle idle for a few minutes to let the alternator stabilise charge. Dual-purpose AGM accepts alternator charging direct, but pairing with a DC-DC charger in a 4WD extends cycle life considerably by keeping the battery topped up above 95% state-of-charge.

4x4 and SUV dual-battery setups (as the one battery doing both start and house)
Caravan house-battery boxes with STD-24 case space
Marine centre console and boat house banks
RV, motorhome and camper trailer electrics
Trailers running tail lights, winches, boom gates with occasional cranking duty
Not for vehicles originally fitted with Stop-Start AGM or EFB (use Century ISS Active AGM)
Not for sustained deep-cycle duty beyond 50% DOD on daily basis (split system outlasts)
Not for side or angled mounting — install upright only

Q: What does dual-purpose mean?
A battery built to both start the engine (high short-duration current) and run accessories over longer periods (cycling). Pure starter batteries have thin plates for high current and die under deep discharge; pure deep-cycle batteries have thick plates and lower cranking current. Dual-purpose sits in between — enough CCA to crank, enough plate mass to survive repeat deep cycles.

Q: Can this battery start my 4x4 and run my fridge?
Yes. 730 CCA is strong cranking current for 4L to 6L petrol or diesel engines, and 140 minutes reserve capacity is enough for a 12V fridge drawing 3-5A to run most of a night. For long weekends off-grid or regular inverter use, a split system (dedicated cranker + dedicated deep cycle) still outlasts one dual-purpose battery.

Q: Is it suitable for Stop-Start vehicles?
No. Stop-Start vehicles need batteries built for repeat micro-cycling of engine restarts, matched by the car's BMS — either EFB or ISS-rated AGM. For a Stop-Start car, use Century ISS Active AGM in the matching case size.

Q: Can I install it on its side?
No. Even though AGM is spill-proof, this battery is designed and warranted for upright installation only. Side mounting voids the warranty.

Q: Is it maintenance-free?
Yes. Sealed AGM, no cell caps, no fluid top-ups, flame-arrestor venting under extreme pressure only. The lid stays sealed for the life of the battery.

Q: Can it go under the bonnet?
Yes. Polypropylene case is rated for sustained under-bonnet heat, and Platelock plate bracing handles the vibration of engine mounts and 4WD tracks. Many factory 4x4 tray fitments are under-bonnet; this battery suits those.

Q: What's STD/WN terminal mean?
Standard tapered post plus Wing Nut terminal. The main battery cables bolt to the primary standard posts; the secondary wing-nut terminals take accessory feeds (dash camera, UHF, fridge power) without having to disturb the main cables.

Q: How does Dual Force+ compare to the standard Century 24X?
24X is a flooded starter battery (cranking only). 24LX Dual Force+ is AGM with full-frame cast plates built to cycle without rapid damage, plus the wing-nut multi-terminals for accessory loads. If the vehicle is a flat-road sedan with no accessories, 24X is cheaper and fine. If it's a 4x4 with any aftermarket draw, 24LX is the right pick.

Q: What warranty does it carry?
24-month Century manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, unless otherwise stated on the product label. Returned to any Century dealer for in-warranty assessment.
