A 90Ah dual-purpose AGM battery sized for larger 4x4s, caravans and marine house banks. Cranks the engine at 750 cold cranking amps and holds up through 175 minutes of reserve capacity when running the fridge, lights, inverter and accessories at anchor or at camp. Fits 4x4 and SUV dual-battery trays, caravan house-battery boxes, boat house banks and RV electrics in the standard 27 case size. Suits owners running one battery that does both the start job and the house job.

AGM chemistry so the electrolyte sits in glass-fibre mats, spill-proof and ventilation-free. Thick full-frame cast plates with Platelock bracing for vibration tolerance under-bonnet and on rough tracks. 302 by 174 by 200mm polypropylene case (220mm total height to terminal tops), standard tapered posts with wing-nut secondary terminals for straight bolt-on and clean accessory connections. 23.5kg sealed and maintenance free. D polarity multi-terminal (positive at the left, negative at the right).

Not an EFB or ISS-rated AGM for Stop-Start duty. Install upright, not on its side. For bigger 4WDs with heavy winch, fridge and inverter demands, this bats above a plain starter battery but a split system (dedicated cranker plus dedicated deep cycle) still outlasts a single dual-purpose battery over 3-5 years of heavy duty.

  • Dual-purpose AGM — starts the engine and runs the house
  • 750 CCA — cold-weather cranking headroom for larger engines
  • 175 min RC — extended house duty between recharges
  • 90Ah capacity — bigger reserve for caravans and 4WDs
  • Platelock plates — vibration-braced under-bonnet and off-road
  • STD/WN multi-terminal — primary cables plus accessory wing-nut taps
  • Sealed AGM — no venting, safe for indoor install
  • Made in Australia — Century Villawood plant, 12-month warranty

Install upright, not on its side or angled. Confirm the battery tray fits 302 × 174 × 200mm (220mm to top of terminals) and has clearance for cable lugs on the primary posts. Wing-nut secondary terminals accept accessory tap cables; torque the wing nuts hand-tight plus a quarter-turn with a spanner.

After fitting, let the vehicle idle for a few minutes to let the alternator stabilise charge. Dual-purpose AGM accepts alternator charging direct, but pairing with a DC-DC charger in a 4WD extends cycle life considerably by keeping the battery topped up above 95% state-of-charge.

Larger 4x4s, utes and SUVs needing single-battery solution with house capacity
Caravan house-battery boxes with STD-27 case space
Marine house battery banks on cabin cruisers and runabouts
RV, motorhome and camper trailer electrics
Standalone off-grid / solar bank installations
Not for vehicles originally fitted with Stop-Start AGM or EFB (use Century ISS Active AGM)
Not for sustained deep-cycle duty beyond 50% DOD on daily basis (split system outlasts)
Not for side or angled mounting — install upright only

Q: What does dual-purpose mean?
A battery built to both start the engine and run accessories over longer periods. Pure starter batteries have thin plates for brief high current and die quickly under deep discharge; pure deep-cycle batteries have thick plates and lower cranking current. Dual-purpose sits in between — enough CCA to crank, enough plate mass to survive repeat deep cycles.

Q: Can this battery start my 4x4 and run my fridge?
Yes. 750 CCA cranks 4L to 6L petrol or diesel engines reliably, and 175 minutes reserve capacity gives a solid overnight budget for a 12V fridge, lights and USB charging. For extended off-grid use or regular inverter loads, a split system (dedicated cranker + dedicated deep cycle) still outlasts one dual-purpose battery.

Q: Is it suitable for Stop-Start vehicles?
No. Stop-Start vehicles need batteries built for repeat engine restart micro-cycling, matched by the car's BMS — either EFB or ISS-rated AGM. For a Stop-Start car, use Century ISS Active AGM in the matching case size.

Q: What's the difference between 24LX and 27LX?
Case size and capacity. 24LX is 75Ah / 730CCA in a 260mm case with C polarity; 27LX is 90Ah / 750CCA in a 302mm case with D polarity multi-terminal. 27LX gives you an extra 15Ah of house capacity and 35 more minutes of reserve for a slightly bigger footprint. Match the case to the tray that's already in the vehicle.

Q: Can I install it on its side?
No. Even though AGM is spill-proof, this battery is designed and warranted for upright installation only. Side mounting voids the warranty.

Q: Is it maintenance-free?
Yes. Sealed AGM, no cell caps, no fluid top-ups, flame-arrestor venting under extreme pressure only. The lid stays sealed for the life of the battery.

Q: What's STD/WN terminal mean?
Standard tapered post plus Wing Nut secondary terminal. The main battery cables bolt to the primary standard posts; the secondary wing-nut terminals take accessory feeds without disturbing the main cables.

Q: What's D multi-terminal mean?
D polarity means positive terminal at the left and negative at the right when viewing from above — opposite to standard C polarity. Multi-terminal means both standard STD posts AND wing-nut secondary posts on the same lid. Check that the vehicle wiring reaches the correct side for the primary cables.

Q: What warranty does it carry?
12-month Century manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, unless otherwise stated on the product label.
