A DIN75LH maintenance-free starter battery that delivers 750 cold cranking amps and 160 minutes of reserve capacity on a 12V 90Ah bank. Fits mid to large European and imported vehicles that specify the DIN75LH case, common fitment on Audi A4 and A6 TDI, Mercedes-Benz C/E/S-Class diesel, VW Passat and Golf TDI, BMW 3 and 5-Series diesel, Range Rover Sport, Hyundai Santa Fe diesel and larger Volvos.

Case measures 315 by 175 by 190 mm and weighs 20.9 kg. Calcium plates lower self-discharge to around 2 percent per month and resist corrosion on the positive grid. Central vent with flame arrestor and recessed STD tapered posts with C polarity, negative post on the left when the terminals face you. State-of-charge indicator eye on the lid shows green when charged.

What sets it apart

Developed and tested for Australian conditions, hot cabin temperatures, dust, long cranks after sitting in the sun. Vibration-resistant plate anchoring stands up to corrugated outback tracks that European OE batteries struggle with. DIN75LH case format matches factory tray dimensions on most mid-to-large European diesels for direct OE swap.

Charging, mounting and fusing

Standard flooded calcium wet-cell charge profile: 14.4 to 14.7 V bulk, 13.5 to 13.8 V float at 20°C with temperature compensation. Do not use lithium or AGM-only chargers. Clamp to the OE tray using the existing top clamp or J-hook, torque posts to 10 to 12 Nm. For modern European marques with battery management systems, run a BMS reset or battery register through the dealer scan tool after installation so the charging algorithm resets. Fuse the main starter cable and vehicle loom at OE spec, not at the battery post. Auxiliary systems fuse at source by cable gauge.

Not a Start-Stop battery. If the vehicle originally shipped with an EFB or AGM battery for Idle Stop-Start, the DIN75LH MF won't last. Check the OE battery label; if it says EFB, AGM or ISS, use Century's ISS Active range instead.

  • 750 CCA — Cold cranking for European diesels
  • 160 min reserve — Key-off accessory runtime
  • 90Ah capacity — Deep draw tolerance for large electrics
  • Calcium plates — Low self-discharge, long shelf life
  • Maintenance-free — Sealed vent, no watering
  • STD terminal posts — Direct OE connection
  • DIN75LH case — 315 by 175 by 190 mm

Electrical

Voltage: 12V DC

CCA: 750 A

Reserve capacity: 160 min at 25 A

Capacity: 90Ah C20

Technology: Calcium wet-cell

Build

Terminal: STD, C polarity

Case: DIN75LH

Vent: Central, flame arrestor

Length: 315 mm

Width: 175 mm

Height: 190 mm

Weight: 20.9 kg

Ignition off, accessories off, battery disconnected. For modern European and imported marques with a battery management module, run a BMS reset or battery registration through the dealer scan tool so the charging algorithm resets to the new battery.

Clamp to the OE tray using the existing top clamp or J-hook. Clean posts and clamps before connecting, positive terminal first then negative, torque both to 10 to 12 Nm.

Charger profile is standard flooded calcium wet-cell: 14.4 to 14.7 V bulk, 13.5 to 13.8 V float at 20°C with temperature compensation. Do not use lithium or AGM-only chargers.

Fuse the main starter cable and vehicle loom at OE spec, not at the battery post. Auxiliary systems are fused at source by cable gauge.

Direct OE replacement for 12V mid to large European and imported vehicles that specify a DIN75LH case.
12V vehicle systems with higher cranking demand (diesel engines, larger-displacement petrol)
European marques (Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, VW, Volvo) specifying DIN75LH
Japanese and Korean large-engine imports (Hyundai Santa Fe diesel, Mazda CX-9, etc.)
4WDs with factory DIN75LH tray (Range Rover Sport, late-model Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel)
24V single-battery systems
Start-Stop vehicles requiring EFB or AGM (use Century ISS Active range)

Q: What does DIN75LH actually mean?
DIN is the European battery sizing standard. DIN75LH is the 315 by 175 by 190 mm case with STD tapered posts and C polarity. The H denotes the higher-capacity 90Ah variant of the DIN75L format.

Q: What does maintenance-free (MF) mean?
Sealed central vent with flame arrestor plus calcium plate chemistry that holds electrolyte and resists water loss. No topping up across normal service life.

Q: What does CCA mean?
Cold cranking amps, the current the battery can deliver at -18°C for 30 seconds while holding above 7.2 V. 750 CCA is a mid-high rating that comfortably starts 2.0 to 3.0L European diesels on a frosty morning.

Q: What's reserve capacity?
Minutes a fully charged battery can supply a 25 A load before voltage drops to 10.5 V. 160 min reserve means roughly 67Ah of key-off accessory runtime before the battery is flat.

Q: Does polarity matter?
Yes. C polarity puts the negative post on the LEFT when terminals face you. If the OE loom expects C polarity and you install a D polarity battery, cables won't reach cleanly and you risk a short.

Q: What vehicles does it fit?
Mid to large European and imported vehicles that specify DIN75LH as OE: Audi A4 and A6 TDI, Mercedes-Benz C/E/S-Class diesel, VW Passat and Golf TDI, BMW 3 and 5-Series diesel, Range Rover Sport, Hyundai Santa Fe diesel and larger Volvos. Always confirm against the sticker on the existing battery.

Q: Can I use it in a Start-Stop vehicle?
No. Idle Stop-Start requires an EFB or AGM battery, which handle thousands of partial-state-of-charge cycles that a conventional MF plate won't survive. Use Century's ISS Active range for Start-Stop fitments.

Q: Can I use it in a 24V system?
No. This is a single 12V unit. For 24V trucks or industrial equipment, pair two matched batteries in series or specify a dedicated 24V unit.

Q: Can I install this myself?
Yes if the vehicle is OE-simple. For modern European and import marques with battery management systems (Audi, VW, BMW, Mercedes 2010+), you'll want to register the new battery through the dealer scan tool so the charging algorithm resets. Our workshop can do the install plus the BMS register in one visit.

Q: What charger profile does it need?
Standard flooded calcium wet-cell: 14.4 to 14.7 V bulk, 13.5 to 13.8 V float at 20°C with temperature compensation. Do NOT use a lithium-only or AGM-only charger profile.
