Important note

Century ISS Active AGM batteries are OE-grade replacements for premium vehicles originally fitted with AGM start-stop batteries. Do not downgrade to a flooded battery, the regenerative-braking logic expects AGM impedance and will miscalculate state of charge, shortening battery life and disabling fuel-saving functions.

We accept
Direct AGM replacement for vehicles fitted with Idle Stop-Start (ISS), regenerative braking or dual-battery energy-recovery systems where the OE battery is a 70Ah DIN65LH AGM.

A 70Ah AGM start-stop battery built for larger-engined European and Asian cars with heavy accessory load. Delivers 720 cold-cranking amps for cold starts and holds 120 minutes of reserve for engine-off accessory draw at a stop light. Fits late-model vehicles that run factory Idle Stop-Start, regenerative braking or dual-battery energy-recovery systems.

The case is DIN L3 (276 by 175 by 190mm) with standard tapered posts on C polarity, positive terminal front-left. Absorbed glass mat construction holds the electrolyte in a fibreglass separator so it mounts upright without spill risk and runs sealed maintenance-free. Carry handles are moulded in for upright swaps.

AGM-fitted vehicles must be replaced with another AGM battery. Downgrading to a flooded battery disables the regenerative-braking logic and shortens battery life. Most European and premium Asian cars require a battery management system reset after swap so the charging logic recalculates state of charge; if a battery warning stays on after fitting, bring it in for the scan tool reset.

  • AGM separator construction — holds electrolyte in glass mat, no spill, no top-up
  • High cyclic endurance — built for repeated engine-off restarts in heavy traffic
  • ISS and regen ready — matches factory start-stop and regenerative braking logic
  • Fast recharge — recovers charge between restarts in short city trips
  • Sealed maintenance-free — no acid service, carry handles for upright swap
  • 36-month warranty — backed by Century's national service network

AGM-equipped ISS vehicles must be replaced with another AGM battery. Downgrading to a flooded battery disables regenerative braking logic and shortens battery life.

Most European and premium Asian vehicles with ISS require a battery management system (BMS) reset after swap so the charging logic recalculates state of charge. If a battery warning stays on after fitting, bring it in and we'll run the scan tool reset in the workshop.

Mounts upright in the OE tray with the vehicle's existing hold-down (end/side ledge). Match the DIN case code (DIN65LH) and polarity (C, positive left) to the OE battery before ordering.

Direct AGM replacement for vehicles fitted with Idle Stop-Start (ISS), regenerative braking or dual-battery energy-recovery systems where the OE battery is a 70Ah DIN65LH AGM.
Common OE fitment on late-model European and premium Asian passenger vehicles with high accessory load (heated seats, electric steering, panoramic roofs) that need the extra reserve capacity over the DIN53LH size.
Match the DIN case code (DIN65LH), the AGM chemistry and the polarity (C, positive front-left) to the vehicle's original battery before ordering.

Q: What does AGM actually mean?
Absorbed Glass Mat. The electrolyte is held in a fibreglass separator between the plates rather than sloshing around as free liquid. That lets the battery survive deep cycling, mount in positions a flooded battery cannot, and run sealed with no top-up. The trade-off is a higher purchase price and the need for AGM-aware charging voltage.

Q: What does CCA mean and why does 720 matter?
Cold Cranking Amps. The current the battery can deliver for 30 seconds at minus 18 degrees Celsius while holding at least 7.2V. 720 CCA is the OE-spec for larger-engined European and Asian cars that need the DIN65LH AGM footprint. Higher than the DIN53LH because the engines are typically bigger and the accessory load is heavier.

Q: What does Reserve Capacity (RC) mean?
How long the battery can supply 25A at 25 degrees Celsius before dropping below 10.5V. 120 minutes means two hours of accessory load with the engine off. Important for cars that sit idling in traffic with heated seats, climate control and infotainment all drawing.

Q: Can I use a cheaper flooded battery instead?
No. ISS and regenerative-braking cars expect an AGM battery and run higher charging voltages the flooded chemistry cannot tolerate long term. Downgrading voids the vehicle's warranty on charging-system components in many brands, and typically kills the flooded battery inside a year.

Q: Do I need a BMS reset after fitting?
Most late-model European and premium Asian cars with ISS do. The vehicle learns the fitted battery's state of charge over time; swapping to a fresh battery without resetting the BMS leaves the vehicle thinking it's still old and tired, which can disable stop-start or trigger a battery-health warning on the dash. We run the scan-tool reset in the workshop as part of the fitting.

Q: How long should this battery last in a start-stop car?
Four to six years is typical for an AGM in a well-driven ISS vehicle. Short, repeated trips without time to recharge are what kills these batteries early. Highway driving with the alternator kept warm lengthens life.

Q: Can I fit a smaller DIN53LH AGM instead?
Only if the vehicle's OE spec allows it. The DIN53LH is shorter (242mm vs 276mm) and lighter capacity (60Ah vs 70Ah). On cars originally specified with the DIN65LH, the smaller battery will cycle harder, run flat earlier in traffic and typically fail within 2-3 years instead of 4-6. Match the OE size.

Q: Does this fit my car?
If your current battery carries a DIN65LH case code and AGM technology, yes. If you're not sure, check the top label of the existing battery for AGM and DIN65LH or L3-case marking, and confirm C polarity (positive terminal front-left) before ordering.

Q: Can I install it myself?
Physically yes. Unbolt the terminals (negative first), lift out, drop the new one in, bolt up (positive first), tighten to spec. The caveat is the BMS reset on ISS cars; without the reset the vehicle keeps running the old charging profile and the new battery wears out faster.
