A 75Ah flooded Hi-Performance DIN car battery for petrol passenger vehicles with heavy electrical accessory loads. Delivers 760 cold cranking amps and 130 minutes reserve capacity in the DIN65 case size with reversed D polarity (positive terminal at the left, negative at the right when viewing from above). Suits European sedans and 4x4s with aftermarket driving lights, winches, infotainment, dash cams, UHF radios, inverters and other electrical draws beyond a stock passenger battery.

Calcium-calcium plate chemistry with pure lead paste for cycle life and heat tolerance. 277 by 174 by 190mm case, standard tapered-post terminals, 18.10kg sealed and maintenance free. Carry handles cast into the lid, flame-arrestor central venting, mud rack on the plate feet, state-of-charge indicator eye on the top. End and side hold-down slots for direct fit in European and Japanese battery trays. Made in Australia at Century's Villawood plant.

Not an AGM or EFB battery. Not suitable for vehicles originally fitted with a Stop-Start AGM or EFB battery, which require matching chemistry. For a stop-start vehicle, use the Century DIN65LH EFB (standard polarity) or ISS Active AGM equivalent. For a 4WD house-battery or deep-discharge duty, use a dedicated Century deep cycle battery, not this starter battery.

  • 760 CCA — exceptional cold-weather starting power
  • 130 min RC — handles heavy accessory loads at idle
  • Calcium-calcium chemistry — heat tolerance and low self-discharge
  • D polarity, STD terminals — direct European and Japanese fit
  • Sealed maintenance-free — no top-up, flame-arrestor venting
  • Charge indicator eye — instant state-of-charge check
  • Made in Australia — Century Villawood plant, 40-month warranty

Confirm the vehicle takes DIN65 case (277 × 174 × 190mm), standard tapered-post terminals, and D polarity (positive at the left, negative at the right when viewing from above). End or side hold-down bracket fits the moulded slots on this case. Carry handles on the lid make lifting into the tray easier.

After fitting, let the engine idle for a few minutes to let the alternator stabilise charge. On European vehicles with battery registration (BMW, VW, Audi, Mercedes), use a scan tool to code the new battery to the vehicle's charge management system.

European and Japanese petrol passenger vehicles requiring DIN65 case size and D polarity (277 × 174 × 190mm, 760CCA, STD terminal post)
Petrol 4x4s and SUVs with heavy aftermarket accessory loads (driving lights, UHF radios, winches, inverters, infotainment)
Classic and modern European vehicles originally fitted with DIN65RHX or equivalent
Not for vehicles originally fitted with Stop-Start AGM or EFB (use Century DIN65LH EFB or ISS Active AGM instead)
Not for 4WD house-battery or deep-cycle duty (use dedicated Century deep cycle battery)
Not for Peugeot 504 diesel or similar older models that require different capacity

Q: What does CCA mean?
Cold Cranking Amps. The current the battery can deliver for 30 seconds at minus 18°C while staying above 7.2V. 760 CCA is well above the ~500 CCA needed for a typical passenger engine, so it holds up through cold starts and sustained accessory loads.

Q: What does RC mean?
Reserve Capacity, in minutes. 130 RC means the battery can supply 25 amps for 130 minutes before dropping below 10.5V. That's a measure of how long the dash, lights, infotainment and hazards can run on battery alone with the engine off.

Q: What does D polarity mean?
Terminal arrangement. Looking at the battery from above with the terminals toward you, D polarity has the positive terminal at the left and the negative at the right. The opposite (C polarity) has positive at the right. European and some Japanese vehicles are typically D polarity; most Australian and Korean sedans are C. Check which the vehicle takes before ordering.

Q: Is this battery suitable for vehicles with Stop-Start systems?
No. Stop-Start vehicles need an EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) or AGM battery built for the micro-cycling of repeat engine restarts. For a stop-start vehicle, use Century DIN65LH EFB (standard polarity) or ISS Active AGM equivalent in the same case size.

Q: Is the battery sealed and maintenance-free?
Yes. Sealed calcium-calcium chemistry with central flame-arrestor venting. No fluid checks, no top-ups, no cell caps. The lid stays sealed for the life of the battery.

Q: Can I use this as a 4WD house battery?
No. This is a starting battery, built to deliver big current for seconds then recharge immediately. A house battery (fridge, lights, inverter) is discharged over hours and recharged through DC-DC. The thin starting-battery plates fail quickly under repeat deep discharge. Use a dedicated Century deep cycle battery for house duty.

Q: What's the difference between this and a standard DIN65?
The HX suffix is Century's Ultra Hi Performance plate chemistry: thicker calcium-calcium plates with pure lead paste for higher CCA and longer life than standard DIN65 (760 CCA versus roughly 620-680 CCA on a standard DIN65). Same case dimensions, higher output and 40-month warranty instead of standard 30-month.

Q: How long does a car battery like this last?
4-6 years in typical passenger-car duty, longer in cooler climates. Short-trip driving, high aftermarket accessory loads and leaving the battery discharged all shorten service life. The 40-month Century warranty covers manufacturing defects over that period.

Q: Where is it made?
Century's Villawood plant in Sydney. Century has made automotive batteries in Australia since 1928 and is now owned by GS Yuasa.
