A manual-reset circuit breaker steps in where a fuse would, but you don't have to carry spares. When the circuit draws more current than the breaker is rated for (short, stalled motor, dead-short to chassis), the button pops out and cuts power. Push it back in once the fault is cleared and you're back running.

Rated up to 48V DC, IP67 sealed against water and dust, with stainless-steel studs and a trip indicator on the reset button so a faulted circuit is obvious at a glance. Suitable for dual-battery installs, DC-DC charger protection, inverter feeds, auxiliary fuse-block trunk lines, and marine primary distribution.

Size guide

Pick the amp rating one step above the maximum sustained current of the circuit you're protecting. If your circuit pulls 45A max, the 50A breaker is right; if it pulls 80A max, the 100A breaker gives you working headroom.

Amp rating Typical use
30A Accessory branches: fridge, USB hubs, LED bars, driving lights via relay
40A Larger accessory branches, small inverters up to 400W
50A Small aux fuse-block trunk feed, inverters up to 500W
60A 40A DC-DC charger protection, medium fuse-block trunk feed
80A Aux battery trunk feed, 1000W inverter branch
100A Larger DC-DC charger protection, alternator branch, marine primary
120A Heavy aux trunk feed, inverter branch up to 1500W
150A Dual-battery main protection, inverter branch up to 1800W

For winches (which draw 200A to 500A under load), fit a 200A or higher MEGA, ANL or Class T fuse instead. Circuit breakers below 200A cannot carry that stall current safely.

You'll also need

  • Manual reset — no fuse to carry or replace
  • Trip indicator — see at a glance when it's tripped
  • IP67 sealed — engine bay, exterior and marine mounting
  • Stainless studs — corrosion-proof, low-resistance connection
  • Wide temp range — rated -40°C to +85°C
  • 48V DC compatible — covers 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V systems
  • Full amperage range — 30A through 150A per SKU

Reusable DC circuit protector for 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V vehicle systems.
12V, 24V, 36V and 48V DC (marine, 4WD, caravan, RV, tinny, tender)
240V AC mains — regulated electrical, installed by a licensed electrician (EC17073)

Q: What actually is a manual-reset circuit breaker?
It's a reusable overcurrent protector. When the current through it exceeds its rated amperage, an internal bi-metal strip heats up, bends and trips the button. Push the button back in once the fault is cleared and it's ready again. No spare fuse needed, no wire cut and re-terminated.

Q: What's the difference between a manual-reset breaker and a fuse?
A fuse is a one-shot sacrificial element; blow it and you're replacing it. A manual-reset breaker resets with a push and is designed for circuits that occasionally spike, or that you'd rather test with a reset than a fuse swap. Downside: a breaker is bulkier than a blade fuse and slightly higher resistance than a same-rated MEGA or ANL.

Q: How do I reset it after a trip?
Fix the fault first (find the short, clear the overload), then push the button firmly back in. If it pops straight back out, the fault is still there or the circuit's continuously drawing more than the breaker rating.

Q: What does IP67 mean?
IP is Ingress Protection. The first digit (6) is dust: fully dust-tight. The second digit (7) is water: withstands submersion in 1m of water for 30 minutes. In practice, that means engine bay, wheel arch, chassis-rail mounting, tinny transom, caravan A-frame all fine.

Q: Which amp rating do I pick?
One step above the sustained current of the circuit you're protecting. A DC-DC charger drawing 40A wants a 50A or 60A breaker; a fuse-block trunk feed carrying 60A of accessories wants an 80A breaker. Undersize and it nuisance-trips; oversize and it won't protect the wire. See the size guide table on this page.

Q: Can I use one on a winch?
No. Common 4WD winches draw 200A to 500A under load stall. This breaker maxes at 150A. Winch main-line protection needs a 200A or higher MEGA, ANL or Class T fuse (or a heavy-duty winch-rated breaker sold as such).

Q: Can it also work as a manual isolator?
Occasionally, yes. You can press the button to trip it and cut power. It's not designed for daily switching cycles (a dedicated isolator switch is rated for that), but for occasional off-power service work it's fine.

Q: Can it be used on 240V AC mains?
No. This is a DC-only breaker rated to 48V DC. 240V AC mains protection needs an AS/NZS 3000 compliant MCB or RCBO in a switchboard, installed by a licensed electrician. Elevate is EC17073 (Building & Energy WA) if you need that done.

Q: What size ring lug does it take?
The stud accepts a standard M6 (6.5mm hole) ring lug on the smaller breakers and steps up to a larger stud on higher amperages. Match the ring lug to your cable size: 6mm² for 30-50A, 8mm² for 60-80A, 16mm² for 100-120A, 25mm² for 150A.
