Orange corrugated conduit that protects and identifies 2.5mm² and similar general-power cable runs, sold by the metre with a 16mm outside diameter and 13mm inside diameter. Feeds cable through and flags the run in the trade colour for general power circuits, so anyone opening the installation later sees at a glance what they are looking at.

Corrugated wall flexes around bends without kinking and resists abrasion where the cable rides against a tray, a frame or a panel edge. UV-stable orange holds its colour under sun exposure so the identification does not fade off inside a switchboard or under a tray body.

Use it for AC power cable protection, not automotive HV traction work, and step up to a Heavy Duty burial-rated conduit for anything going underground.

⚠ Important: This is the AS/NZS on-site cable-identification convention for general power circuits. It is not the same as the orange used on EV and hybrid vehicle high-voltage traction wiring, which follows a separate vehicle-manufacturer standard.

Pairs with

  • High-visibility orange — flags general power cable for on-site identification
  • Corrugated construction — flexible, resists abrasion and general wear
  • Protects cable runs — reduces mechanical damage during and after installation

General power cable protection and conduit — suits automotive, caravan, marine and general electrical installations using AS/NZS orange-identified cable.

Q: Why is this conduit orange instead of black or grey?
A: Orange is the Australian trade colour for general power and mains-adjacent circuits, so the cable is easy to identify on site later during servicing or when someone else opens up the installation. It is not the colour convention vehicle manufacturers use for EV or hybrid high-voltage wiring, so do not confuse the two.

Q: What cable does this fit?
A: It is sized for the 2.5mm 2 Core plus Earth Orange Cable and similar general power circuits, with the 13mm inside diameter accommodating the sheath comfortably. Larger cables need the next size up.

Q: Is this suitable for underground installation?
A: No, this is a general-purpose protective conduit, not a Heavy Duty burial-rated conduit. Underground electrical conduit under AS/NZS 3000 needs its own HD rating and a minimum burial depth. Talk to a licensed electrician for underground work.

Q: What does the corrugated construction do?
A: The ribbing gives the conduit its flex without kinking, so it bends around bulkheads, tray edges and panel corners without collapsing the inside diameter. It also spreads any abrasion load across the ribs rather than a single flat wall.

Q: How is it sold?
A: By the metre from a continuous roll. Order the total length needed and it comes cut from stock.

Q: How do I cut it?
A: A sharp side-cutter or a small hacksaw works. Cut through a valley of the corrugation rather than a peak for a cleaner edge that seats squarely into a gland.

Q: Will UV or fuel affect it?
A: The UV stabiliser keeps the orange from fading and the wall from cracking under sun. It handles the incidental fuel and oil contact typical of engine bay routing, though it is not intended to sit in a fuel puddle.

Q: What temperature range does it handle?
A: Rated for continuous use across normal Australian ambient conditions, well within the temperatures a canopy, tray or engine bay sees in service.
