Q: Will it fit my roof rack?
A: Packed it is 2400mm long and 250 x 250mm square, weighing 23kg. The 2400mm length is what catches people out, so measure the clear run on your rack before ordering rather than assuming. Also check your roof load rating, keeping in mind the dynamic limit while driving is lower than the static limit when parked.

Q: What does freestanding actually mean here?
A: It still mounts to your roof rack. The difference is that once it is open it stands on its own adjustable legs rather than cantilevering off the vehicle, so it does not need poles or guy ropes, and you can level it on uneven ground where a cantilevered awning would sit crooked.

Q: Do I choose left hand or right hand?
A: Pick the side of the vehicle you want the awning to open out from. Most people go with the side they camp off, which is usually away from the road, or the side their door and kitchen are on. If you are unsure which suits your build, ask us before ordering rather than after.

Q: Do I need poles or guy ropes?
A: Not in normal conditions. It is rated to stand in winds up to 25 km/h without either. In stronger or gusty weather, peg it down.

Q: How long does it take to set up?
A: Under 60 seconds once you are familiar with it. Level ground makes the difference between that and a few minutes of adjusting legs.

Q: Why square rather than curved?
A: A square edge keeps the corners, so you get the full 12.4 square metres across the back and down the side. Curved awnings lose usable shade exactly where you tend to set up a table or a swag.

Q: What happens if I damage part of it?
A: Every part is serviceable and replaceable. A torn panel or a bent arm is a repair rather than a new awning.

Q: What is the warranty?
A: 5 years on the frame and workmanship, and 2 years on the canvas, both from date of purchase.
