Important note

Century ISS Active EFB batteries are OE-grade replacements for vehicles originally fitted with EFB start-stop batteries. Do not fit a plain flooded battery in an ISS car; the charging logic expects EFB behaviour and will shorten battery life.

We accept
Direct EFB replacement for vehicles fitted with Idle Stop-Start (ISS) systems where the OE battery is a DIN65LH EFB. Common on late-model Japanese passenger cars and SUVs including the Toyota Highlander 2.4 VVTi (2022+) with factory EFB specification.

A 70Ah EFB start-stop battery built for mid-sized petrol passenger cars with factory Idle Stop-Start. Delivers 650 cold-cranking amps and holds 120 minutes of reserve for engine-off accessory draw at a stop light. Direct OE replacement for the Toyota Highlander 2.4 VVTi (2022+) and other vehicles originally fitted with a DIN65LH EFB.

The case is DIN L3 (275 by 175 by 190mm) with standard tapered posts on C polarity, positive terminal front-left. Enhanced Flooded construction uses thicker plates and a bonded polyester scrim on the positive to survive the deep, repeated cycling start-stop demands. Sealed maintenance-free with moulded carry handles.

EFB-equipped ISS cars must be replaced with another EFB or an AGM upgrade. Downgrading to a standard flooded battery kills the battery inside a year and can disable stop-start. Many late-model vehicles require a battery management system reset after swap; if a battery warning stays on after fitting, bring it in for the scan tool reset.

  • Enhanced Flooded construction — up to twice the cycle life of a standard flooded battery
  • ISS-ready — engineered for factory Idle Stop-Start cycling
  • Fast recharge — recovers charge between engine restarts in traffic
  • Sealed maintenance-free — no acid service, carry handles for upright swap
  • Direct OE replacement — for vehicles originally fitted with a DIN65LH EFB
  • 24-month warranty — backed by Century's national service network

EFB-equipped ISS vehicles must be replaced with another EFB or AGM battery. Downgrading to a standard flooded battery shortens battery life and can disable stop-start.

Many late-model vehicles require a battery management system (BMS) reset after swap so the charging logic recalculates state of charge. If a battery warning stays on after fitting, bring it in and we'll run the scan tool reset in the workshop.

Mounts upright in the OE tray with the vehicle's existing hold-down (end/side ledge). Match the DIN case code (DIN65LH) and polarity (C, positive left) to the OE battery before ordering.

Also suitable as an upgrade for standard flooded applications used in frequent short-trip, high-restart service where a conventional battery wears out early.
Match the DIN case code (DIN65LH), the EFB chemistry and the polarity (C, positive front-left) to the vehicle's original battery before ordering.

Q: What does EFB actually mean?
Enhanced Flooded Battery. A standard flooded chemistry with thicker plates and a polyester scrim bonded to the positive plate to resist shedding under heavy cycling. Built to handle the deep, repeated discharge cycles start-stop systems demand, at a lower price point than AGM.

Q: What's the difference between EFB and AGM?
Both suit start-stop vehicles. AGM has roughly 3x the cycle life of a standard flooded battery and can handle regenerative braking; EFB has roughly 2x the cycle life and suits ISS without regen. If your car was fitted with EFB from factory, replace with EFB. If it was fitted with AGM, replace with AGM, never downgrade an AGM car to EFB.

Q: What does CCA mean and why does 650 matter?
Cold Cranking Amps. The current the battery can deliver for 30 seconds at minus 18 degrees Celsius while holding at least 7.2V. 650 CCA is the OE-spec for mid-sized petrol passenger cars that need the DIN65LH EFB footprint and ISS cycling.

Q: What does Reserve Capacity (RC) mean?
How long the battery can supply 25A at 25 degrees Celsius before dropping below 10.5V. 120 minutes means roughly two hours of accessory load with the engine off, the headroom start-stop systems rely on when the engine shuts down at a light.

Q: Can I use a cheaper standard flooded battery instead?
No. ISS cars expect EFB (or AGM) and will cycle a standard flooded battery flat inside a year. The deeper, repeated discharge of start-stop operation shreds a flooded battery's positive-plate active material. EFB is purpose-built for this duty.

Q: Do I need a BMS reset after fitting?
Most late-model ISS cars do. The vehicle learns the fitted battery's state of charge over time; swapping to a fresh battery without resetting the BMS leaves the vehicle thinking it's still old and tired, which can disable stop-start or trigger a battery-health warning on the dash. We run the scan-tool reset in the workshop as part of the fitting.

Q: How long should this battery last in a start-stop car?
Three to five years is typical for an EFB in a well-driven ISS vehicle. Short, repeated trips without time to recharge are what kills these batteries early.

Q: Can I upgrade to the DIN65LH AGM instead?
Usually yes, if your charging system is EFB-or-AGM capable. AGM is a step up in cycling life and handles regenerative braking if your car has it. Check the vehicle service manual before upgrading because some ISS systems are EFB-only.

Q: Does this fit my car?
If your current battery carries a DIN65LH case code and EFB (or AGM-upgrade-approved) marking, yes. If you're not sure, check the top label of the existing battery for EFB and DIN65LH or the equivalent L3-case marking, and confirm C polarity (positive terminal front-left) before ordering.
