A wireless 12V switch box that puts six independently-controlled 30-amp outputs behind a smartphone, an Apple CarPlay screen, an Android Auto screen or a compatible Garmin navigator. Runs light bars, air compressors, fridges, work lights, water pumps, cabin fans and other 12V accessories off one sealed unit rated to 100 amps across all six channels. Fits under bonnets, in canopy electrical boxes, on caravan chassis rails and inside boat helms without cutting the dash for a physical switch panel.

The housing measures 125 by 75 by 32 millimetres and mounts flat with two screws. Bluetooth pairs it to the free Garmin PowerSwitch app on iPhone or Android, or to a compatible Garmin navigator, over 2.4 GHz. Two hardwire trigger inputs accept 3.3 to 18 volts, so a reverse-light feed switches a rear work light on when the car goes into reverse, and an ignition wire brings a dash camera up on start. Four PowerSwitch units link together for 24 controlled channels off one app.

Rate each output for the actual accessory load, since 30 amps is the ceiling per channel, not a target. Winches drawing more than 30 amps continuous need a separate solenoid or contactor triggered by a PowerSwitch output, not a direct connection. Fuse the 100-amp main feed at the battery.

  • Six switch outputs — control up to six 12V accessories
  • 30A per channel — 100A total across the unit
  • Bluetooth wireless — phone, CarPlay, Android Auto or Garmin nav
  • IPX7 sealed — under-bonnet, canopy or marine helm
  • Two hardwire triggers — auto-switching off reverse or ignition
  • Four units linked — expand to 24 controlled channels
  • Dim, flash, strobe — each channel does more than on/off
  • No dash cutout — replaces a physical rocker panel

Mounts flat with two screws — under bonnet on a firewall bracket, inside a canopy electrical box, on a caravan chassis rail or behind a boat helm. Run a 6mm² or larger main feed from the battery through a 100-amp fuse to the power input, ground to the nearest chassis point. Wire each accessory into one of the six numbered outputs, sizing each circuit for its actual load up to 30 amps.

Two hardwire trigger inputs accept 3.3 to 18 volts, so a reverse-light feed can switch a rear work light on automatically, an ignition wire brings a dash camera up on start, or a brake signal fires a chase light. Pair Bluetooth to the free Garmin PowerSwitch app on iPhone or Android to configure switch labels, icons, dim and flash behaviour, and groupings that fire several accessories from one tap.

Wireless 12V accessory controller for any 12V vehicle or marine system
4WDs, utes, caravans, RVs, boats and marine helms
Under-bonnet, canopy, dash, chassis-rail or helm mount
Not for 24V-only systems (input rated 12–16V DC)

Q: What does the Garmin PowerSwitch actually do?
It replaces a bank of physical rocker switches with a wireless controller. You wire up to six 12-volt accessories into it, then switch them on and off from your phone, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or a compatible Garmin navigator.

Q: How much current can each output carry?
Each of the six outputs carries up to 30 amps continuous. The unit as a whole carries up to 100 amps total across all six channels combined.

Q: Can it run a winch?
Only winches drawing under 30 amps continuous, which rules out almost every recovery winch on the market. Anything higher needs a separate solenoid or contactor triggered by the PowerSwitch output, not wired directly to it.

Q: What phones and navigators work with it?
Any recent iPhone or Android phone running the free Garmin PowerSwitch app, plus compatible Garmin GPS navigators (Overlander, Tread, and other current 4WD-oriented Garmin units). The app also displays through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on head units that support them.

Q: Is it waterproof?
It carries an IPX7 rating from Garmin — sealed against water immersion up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. Suitable for exposed under-bonnet, canopy electrical box, chassis-rail and marine-helm mounting.

Q: Can more than one PowerSwitch be linked?
Yes. Up to four units link together for 24 controlled accessories from a single app, and up to four separate controllers (phones or Garmin navigators) can pair with any one unit.

Q: Do the outputs dim or strobe, or just switch on and off?
Each output does more than plain on/off. The app lets you dim, flash and strobe individual channels, and group multiple accessories under one virtual switch so a single tap fires several at once.

Q: Do I still need fuses if the PowerSwitch has current limits?
Yes. Fuse the 100-amp main feed from the battery to the PowerSwitch input, and size each accessory circuit for its actual load. The unit's internal protection is a backup, not a substitute for correctly sized fuses at both ends.

Q: What are the two hardwire trigger inputs for?
They let a signal wire trigger a PowerSwitch output automatically. A reverse-light feed switches a rear work light on when the vehicle goes into reverse; an ignition-on wire brings a dash camera up on start; a brake signal fires a chase light. Both inputs accept 3.3 to 18 volts.

Q: Where should it be mounted?
Somewhere close to the accessories it feeds to keep cable runs short, even with the IPX7 rating. Under-bonnet on a firewall bracket, inside a canopy electrical box, on a caravan chassis rail, or behind a boat helm are all common installs. The mounting face is 125 by 75 millimetres with two screw points.
