The Century EverRide GYZ20L is a Heavy Duty 12V 18Ah AGM motorcycle battery that cranks accessory-laden touring and V-twin bikes at 250 cold-cranking amps. It fits Harley-Davidson FLHT, FLHX and FLHR Touring in the YIX30L/YIX20L case range, BMW R-series tourers, Honda Gold Wing GL1500 and other large-displacement cruisers that call for the 175mm long case with Terminal Type A clamp posts.

The case measures 175 by 87 by 155mm and weighs 5.91kg. Cast radial plates spread active material over a wider surface, bumping cranking output without growing the footprint. Advanced AGM separators hold the electrolyte in glass mats so there is no spill, and the sealed VRLA case mounts on any angle. Terminal Type A clamp posts sit on the standard motorcycle layout.

Ships factory activated. Install straight out of the box, top up on an AGM-profile charger if the bike has sat (Century's CC6121.2 is the matched unit). Keep the vent clear and torque the terminal clamps evenly, over-tight bolts crack the post.

Honda Gold Wing GL1500
Large-displacement Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki touring bikes rated for 250CCA
Bikes requiring Terminal Type N (threaded studs) — use GYZ20HL instead
Lithium-only bikes (needs AGM-rated regulator)

Q: What does AGM actually mean?
Absorbed Glass Mat. Fibre-glass mats hold the electrolyte between the plates so nothing sloshes and nothing spills. Sealed, vibration-tolerant, mounts on any angle. On a bike that is why you can lay the battery over without acid leaking out.

Q: What does CCA actually mean?
Cold Cranking Amps — the current the battery can deliver for 30 seconds at -18°C while still holding a usable voltage. Higher CCA means the starter spins harder when it's cold. 250A is enough to crank the big V-twins the GYZ20L is sized for.

Q: What does Ah actually mean?
Amp-hours — the capacity the battery holds between full charge and flat. 18Ah covers heavier accessory loads like heated grips, extra lights and an aftermarket stereo without the starter running flat on the next cold morning.

Q: What makes this one Heavy Duty vs a standard EverRide?
Cast radial plates with more active material per square millimetre, built for touring bikes carrying accessory loads. The standard EverRide YTX series takes shorter rides and lighter electrical draws.

Q: Does it ship ready to install?
Yes. Factory activated — no acid pack, no filling, no first-charge wait. Fit the leads and go.

Q: What's Terminal Type A?
Standard motorcycle clamp-post terminals — the round brass posts you clamp a ring or spade lug onto with a hex-headed bolt. Terminal Type A is the common bike layout. If your bike has threaded studs sticking out, you need Terminal Type N instead (GYZ20HL).

Q: Can I mount it sideways?
Yes. VRLA sealed, no spill — mounts on any angle. Keep the vent clear and the battery held down tight.

Q: Which bikes take a GYZ20L?
Harley-Davidson FLHT, FLHX and FLHR Touring (check model year — Harley also use YIX30L and GYZ32HL on heavier builds), BMW R-series tourers that call for the 18Ah case, Honda Gold Wing GL1500 and other large-displacement cruisers. Match the case size and Terminal Type A to your bike's existing battery.

Q: How long will it last?
AGM batteries on bikes typically run 3-5 years with regular use. Short rides and long storage shorten life — a tender over winter and a monthly top-up charge add years.
