The Century EverRide GYZ32HL Heavy Duty is a 12V 30Ah AGM motorcycle battery that cranks power-hungry V-twins and accessory-laden tourers at 450 cold-cranking amps. It fits Harley-Davidson Touring from 2007, large BMW R-series tourers, Victory touring builds, Honda Gold Wing GL1800 with heated gear and lighting kits, and any big tourer where stock amperage is not enough.

The case measures 170 by 133 by 175mm and weighs 9.9kg. Lead-calcium cast grid plates pack 30Ah into that deep-reserve footprint and cut gassing and self-discharge compared with older antimony plates. AGM VRLA construction seals the acid between glass mats, so there is no spill and the battery mounts on any angle. Terminal Type N posts (threaded studs) suit bikes with ring-terminal lugs rather than clamp posts.

Ships factory-activated and ready to install. No acid pack to pour. The Heavy Duty line is purpose-built for V-twin touring with heated grips, driving lights, GPS, audio and other accessory loads that drain a lesser battery; 450CCA keeps starting reliable even after a long cold-soak with the ignition on. Charge on a dedicated AGM-profile charger (Century's CC6121.2 is the matched unit).

  • Heavy Duty line — built for V-twin touring with accessory load
  • 450 cold-cranking amps — reliable cranking after ignition-on cold soak
  • Factory-activated — install straight out of the box
  • AGM VRLA sealed — mounts on any angle, no spill
  • Terminal Type N — threaded studs suit ring-terminal lugs
  • Lead-calcium grid — low self-discharge, lower gassing

Terminal Type N uses threaded studs instead of clamp posts; the original ring-terminal cable lugs bolt down directly. Torque to the stud's rated figure (typically 6-8 Nm M6) with the correct hex key.

VRLA sealed construction allows mounting on any angle; keep the vent clear.

Top up on an AGM-mode charger if the battery has been sitting on the shelf for several months.

Q: What makes a Heavy Duty battery different?
Thicker plates and higher CCA for the same case size. The Heavy Duty line is built for bikes running heated grips, driving lights, GPS, audio or heated clothing that drain a standard battery through long idling or ignition-on periods before cranking.

Q: What does CCA actually mean?
Cold Cranking Amps. The current the battery delivers for 30 seconds at -18°C while holding above 7.2V. The GYZ32HL is rated at 450CCA — one of the strongest in the range.

Q: What does Ah actually mean?
Amp-hours. The reserve capacity with the engine off. 30Ah means roughly 30 amps for one hour, or one amp for 30 hours.

Q: Does it ship ready to install?
Yes. Factory-activated — no acid pack to pour. If the battery has been on the shelf for months, top up on an AGM-mode charger before fitting.

Q: What's Terminal Type N?
Threaded M6 studs instead of clamp posts. Bikes using Type N have ring-terminal cable lugs that bolt onto the studs with a hex key. Harley Touring 2007 and later use this layout. Clamp-post leads need adapters — don't force them.

Q: Can I mount it on its side?
Yes. The AGM construction is sealed; mount on any angle without spilling. Keep the vent clear.

Q: Will my existing charger work?
Only if it has an AGM mode. Use a smart charger with an AGM profile; Century's CC6121.2 is the matched unit.

Q: Which bikes take a GYZ32HL?
Accessory-laden V-twin and touring bikes needing 450CCA in a 170 × 133 × 175mm case with Type N studs. Common fitments include Harley-Davidson FLHX, FLHR, FLHT Touring (2007 on), Harley Trike (Tri Glide), BMW R1200/R1250 RT and GS touring builds, and Victory touring models.

Q: Should I pick GYZ32HL over YIX30L?
GYZ32HL has 50A more cranking (450 vs 400CCA), uses threaded studs instead of clamp posts, and is a different case size (170 × 133 × 175 vs 166 × 126 × 173mm). Pick GYZ32HL if the bike has ring-terminal lugs, loads up accessories heavily, or the manual specifies Heavy Duty.
