A 150A MEGA bolt-down fuse that drops straight into Projecta's BT950 Fused Battery Distribution Terminal as its genuine spare. Sits under the BT950's terminal cover, carries the 150A continuous rating the terminal is built around, and clears fault currents up to 800A. Fits 12V and 24V dual-battery installs in 4WDs, caravans, boats and off-grid setups where the BT950 is the main distribution point.

The body is a standard MEGA form factor to ISO 8820-10 with 50mm bolt spacing, so it also drops into any generic MEGA holder that matches the same spec. Terminals are tin-plated brass, and the fuse element is calibrated to open before the terminal's rated output is exceeded.

Fuses are sized to the wiring behind them, not to whatever the circuit happens to be pulling on the day. If a 150A fuse keeps blowing, the fault is downstream (a short, a rubbed-through cable or an overloaded circuit), not the fuse. Substituting a higher rating removes the protection the BT950 was designed around and risks cooking the wiring.

You might also need

  • 150A continuous — matches the BT950's rated output
  • MEGA bolt-down — ISO 8820-10, 50mm bolt spacing
  • 32V DC rated — safe on 12V and 24V systems
  • 800A interrupt — clears large fault currents cleanly
  • Genuine spare — sized for Projecta's BT950 terminal

Q: What's the difference between this and the Fused Battery Distribution Terminal you also sell?
This is just the replacement fuse, the small bolt-down 150A element that sits inside a Projecta BT950 terminal. If you need the whole terminal (the housing with three fused outlets), that's a separate product; this one is for replacing a blown fuse or keeping a spare on hand.

Q: How do I know if the fuse has blown?
The BT950 terminal loses power to its output side even though the input side still shows battery voltage. A blown MEGA-style fuse often shows scorching or a visibly broken element, but the reliable check is a multimeter across the fuse terminals with the circuit live: no continuity means it's blown.

Q: Can I fit a higher-amp fuse if 150A keeps blowing?
No. The 150A rating is sized to the terminal's rated output capacity and the wiring downstream of it. Fitting a higher rating removes the protection the terminal was designed around and risks damage further down the circuit. If it keeps blowing, look for the fault downstream (overloaded circuit, short) rather than upsizing the fuse.

Q: What does '150A continuous / 800A' mean?
150A is the rating the fuse carries indefinitely under normal load. The 800A figure is the fuse's interrupt rating, the maximum fault current it can safely clear without the fuse body rupturing. It isn't a second usable current rating.

Q: Will this fit a generic MEGA fuse holder, not just the Projecta terminal?
Yes. It's a standard ISO 8820-10 MEGA bolt-down fuse with 50mm bolt spacing, the same physical format used across most 150A MEGA-style holders, not a Projecta-proprietary shape. It's sold as the genuine spare for the BT950 terminal, but the form factor itself is industry-standard.

Q: Is this suitable for 24V systems?
Yes. It's rated to 32V DC, which comfortably covers 12V and 24V dual-battery systems. It isn't rated for 48V DC systems.

Q: Do I need any tools to replace it?
A screwdriver to remove the BT950's terminal cover, plus a small spanner to undo and refit the fuse's mounting nuts. Always disconnect the battery before working on a blown fuse in a live distribution terminal.

Q: Can I use this fuse in a MEGA fuse holder from a different brand?
Physically, yes, provided the holder is rated for the same 150A and 32V DC MEGA standard and bolt spacing. Always check your specific holder's rated voltage and current before substituting fuses between brands.
