A no-drill vehicle tablet mount that clamps a 9-11 inch tablet and bolts to any existing seat rail stud without drilling a hole. The 18 inch marine-grade aluminium rod bends by hand to any angle and holds position under driving vibration. Fits 4WDs, utes, trucks, caravans, boats and work vehicles where a GPS tablet, iPad or run-sheet display needs to sit within arm's reach.

The Pod I base locks onto the stud of a factory seat rail bolt with a single wrench, so nothing is drilled, welded, or glued into the vehicle. The X-Grip cradle takes any tablet 6.25 to 8.1 inches wide and up to 0.875 inches thick, which covers the iPad 10.2, iPad Air, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Microsoft Surface Go and most 10-11 inch Android tablets with or without a slim case. Rubber-coated grip tips hold the tablet without marking the screen or scratching the bezel.

The mount is rated to 2 lbs under normal use and 1 lb under heavy-duty driving, so a 10 inch tablet in a bulky rugged case can exceed that limit. Strip the case or step up to a stiffer mount if the tablet weighs over 1 kg. Install the base on the passenger seat rail, not the driver seat, so the arm stays clear of the driver's leg and the airbag deployment path.

Q: Does it really install without drilling?
Yes. The Pod I base has a slotted foot that drops over the stud of an existing seat rail bolt, and the factory nut goes back on to clamp it. No holes drilled, no welding, no adhesive. The install is fully reversible.

Q: Will it fit my vehicle?
If your front passenger seat is bolted to the floor through visible seat rails (every 4WD, ute, truck, van and most sedans), yes. Pull back the plastic trim at the base of the seat to find the rail bolt. If your seat uses a hidden rail system (some newer SUVs with powered seats), the Pod I won't suit.

Q: What tablets does it fit?
9-11 inch tablets measuring 159 to 206mm wide and up to 22mm thick. That covers iPad 10.2, iPad Air (3rd gen onward), iPad Pro 11, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1, Tab S6, Tab S7, Microsoft Surface Go, and most 10 inch Android tablets.

Q: Will it fit my iPad with a case on?
Slim cases and skins fit fine. Thick rugged cases (Otterbox Defender, Griffin Survivor) often push the depth past the 22mm limit — measure your cased tablet before buying. If the case won't fit, strip it or use a lower-profile folio.

Q: Does it hold position over corrugations and bumps?
The 457mm aluminium rod is rigid once bent to position and the X-Grip holds the tablet firmly, so corrugated roads and highway cruising aren't a problem. Heavy washboard offroad will shake any arm-mounted tablet; for serious offroad use, step up to a shorter, stiffer arm or pair the Pod base with a double-ball socket arm.

Q: Can I use it on the driver side?
It's physically possible, but we don't recommend it. The arm can swing into the airbag deployment zone and the driver's leg path during normal driving. Install on the passenger seat rail and position the tablet so the driver can glance across to it, same as a factory infotainment screen.

Q: What's the warranty?
Limited lifetime warranty from RAM Mounts against defects in materials and workmanship. RAM is a US-made brand with a 20+ year reputation in the mount market. Return shipping on a warranty claim is the buyer's responsibility.

Q: Can I swap the cradle for a phone holder later?
Yes. The 25mm (B-size) rubber ball at the top of the rod is RAM's standard ball size, so any RAM B-size cradle will clip on — X-Grip for phones, EZ-Roll'r for phones, suction cups, GoPro adapters, action camera mounts and so on.
