A slimline surface-mount housing that lets you fit a 50A Anderson-style connector to a caravan wall, a canopy panel, a battery box or a tray without cutting a bulky recess. The plug clips into the housing, the housing bolts to the surface, done.

Made from UV-resistant nylon in a matte finish, 83 by 64 by 18mm, and available in black, red or white to match the panel it mounts to. Pre-drilled holes make it a two-screw install with any 50A Anderson-style plug body.

The housing bolts directly to the panel with two M4 or #8 self-tappers. It doesn't seal itself against water, so if the mounting surface faces the weather, bed it on a smear of silicone before final tightening. Order a 50A Anderson-style plug separately to complete the install.

Q: What's an Anderson-style plug?
A genderless DC connector: the same plug on both ends of the cable, so you can never wire it back-to-front. The 50A size (SB50) is the standard for 4WD, caravan and camper DC leads. This housing takes the SB50 body specifically, not the larger 175A (SB175) or 350A (SB350) plugs.

Q: Does the Anderson plug come with the housing?
No. The housing is just the plastic mount. Order a 50A Anderson-style plug separately if you don't already have one.

Q: Does it come with mounting screws?
No. Two M4 or #8 self-tappers, panhead machine screws, or rivets are fine, matched to the panel material and thickness.

Q: Can I install it outside on the vehicle?
Yes. The UV nylon body is made for exterior use, and the housing keeps the plug in place. It's not IP-rated as a sealed assembly, so bed it on a smear of silicone if the panel is horizontal and rain-facing.

Q: What voltage systems does it suit?
The housing is passive plastic, so it's rated by the plug you put in it. Standard SB50 Anderson plugs are rated to 600V DC, so 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V vehicle systems are all fine.

Q: Will it fit genuine Anderson SB50s and generic 50A plugs?
Yes. It's built to the SB50 dimensional standard, so genuine Anderson-brand plugs and Anderson-style copies from every reputable brand fit.

Q: Can I use it for 175A or 350A Anderson plugs?
No. SB175 and SB350 are physically larger bodies with a different mounting footprint. Use the matching housing for those sizes.

Q: Why pick surface mount over a flush-recessed housing?
Surface mount only needs a small cable pass-through, not a rectangular cutout. Faster to fit, no template needed, and easier to seal against the panel. Flush recessed is neater visually but takes more work to fit and reduces panel strength.

Q: What size cable will pass through the back of the housing?
The cable pass-through accepts twin 6mm² or 8mm² cable comfortably (standard SB50 wire sizes). Larger cable can be run through the panel below the housing rather than through the housing itself.
