A sealed toggle switch that flips a 12V circuit on and off from a dash panel or console. Handles 20A at 12V and 10A at 24V, so it runs light bars, work lights, water pumps, fridges and reversing camera kits off a single dash flip. Fits 4WDs, caravans, boat helms and canopies through a 12mm mounting hole.

The lever sits under a hinged rubber boot that keeps dust and spray out of the actuator. Body is 29 by 55 by 16 mm and mounts through a single panel hole with a threaded stem. Rear connections are push-on spade terminals for straight-in wiring.

Rate the switch for the actual current the load draws at 12V, not the manufacturer's ceiling headline. For anything above 20A, drive the load through a relay and use the toggle to trigger the relay coil instead of switching the load directly.

  • Sealed lever — hinged rubber boot keeps dust and spray out
  • 20A rating — carries most 12V accessory loads directly
  • Push-on terminals — straight-in wiring, no crimping tools
  • SPST toggle — simple on and off, no misfires
  • 12mm mount — fits a standard single-hole panel drill
  • Pilot terminal — third spade for a dash indicator LED

Sealed toggle switch for 12V and 24V dash panels
Suits 4WDs, utes, caravans, campervans, RVs, boats and canopies

Not for direct switching of loads above 20A — use a relay

Q: What's a sealed toggle switch and why does it matter?
The lever sticks out through a hinged rubber boot that flexes when you flip it and seals back down when you let go. That boot keeps dust, road grit and light water spray out of the mechanism, which is what fails first on unsealed toggles fitted to 4WDs and boats.

Q: What amperage load can I run through this?
20 amps at 12V, or 10 amps at 24V. Match the load's actual draw at 12V (not the label maximum) against that number. A 100W LED bar draws about 8A, a spare fuel pump about 6 to 8A, a fridge about 5A. If your load is above 20A, run it through a relay and use this switch to trigger the relay coil instead.

Q: What does SPST mean?
Single Pole, Single Throw. One input contact, one output contact, no third routing option. When the toggle is up, the circuit is closed; when it's down, the circuit is open. If you need a switch that routes between two circuits (Main / Off / Accessory), that's an SPDT which is a different part.

Q: Why are there three terminals if it's SPST?
The third terminal is a tie-in point for accessory wiring like a pilot indicator light, so you can wire a dash LED that only lights up when the switch is on. Wire the input to one spade, the load to another, and use the third only if you need the pilot circuit.

Q: What panel thickness does it mount through?
A single 12mm round hole. The threaded stem passes through the panel and is held by a nut on the back. Works on dash panels, aluminium fascia, marine plywood and fibreglass consoles.

Q: Can I use it to switch a starter motor or winch?
Not directly. Starter motors draw hundreds of amps and winches 200 to 500A under load; either would burn the switch out immediately. Use this toggle to trigger a solenoid or heavy-duty relay and let the solenoid switch the load.

Q: Is it waterproof?
The boot is water-resistant against splash and spray but not rated for submersion. Behind a dash, in a console, in a canopy interior; fine. Directly exposed to a bow spray-rail or an exterior wheel arch; mount it under a cover or move to a fully sealed IP-rated switch.

Q: What voltage sits at the terminals when the switch is off?
Zero on the load side, full supply voltage on the input side. That's how any switch works, but worth knowing when troubleshooting: probe both sides with a multimeter and one shows 12V (or 24V) with the switch open, the other shows 12V (or 24V) with the switch closed.
