The Century EverRide YTX24HL-BS is a 12V 21Ah AGM motorcycle battery that cranks mid-to-large sports, cruiser and touring bikes at 330 cold-cranking amps. It fits Honda Shadow VT1100, Kawasaki Vulcan VN750/900, Yamaha V-Star, BMW R1100/R1150 and other mid-displacement builds using the YTX24HL-BS case.

The case measures 205 by 87 by 162mm and weighs 6.99kg. Lead-calcium cast grid plates pack 21Ah into that long, narrow footprint and cut gassing and self-discharge compared with older antimony plates. AGM VRLA construction seals the acid between glass mats, so there is no spill and the battery mounts on any angle. Terminal Type A posts sit on the standard motorcycle layout, negative on the left and positive on the right.

Ships dry-charged. Fill with the supplied acid pack, let it rest and heat-seal the lid before first fit, following the Century EverRide user manual. Charge on a dedicated AGM-profile charger (Century's CC6121.2 is the matched unit). A straight automotive charger will boil off the electrolyte and shorten the life.

  • AGM VRLA sealed — mounts on any angle, no spill
  • 330 cold-cranking amps — strong starting for mid-displacement engines
  • Lead-calcium grid — low self-discharge, lower gassing
  • Vibration-resistant — built for cruisers, sports and touring bikes
  • Maintenance-free — sealed caps after dry-charge activation
  • Terminal Type A — standard motorcycle polarity, negative left

Q: What does AGM actually mean?
Absorbed Glass Mat. The acid is soaked into glass mats between the plates instead of sitting as free liquid, so the battery is sealed, cannot spill, and resists vibration.

Q: What does CCA actually mean?
Cold Cranking Amps. The current the battery delivers for 30 seconds at -18°C while holding above 7.2V. Higher CCA means more cranking punch. The YTX24HL-BS is rated at 330CCA.

Q: What does Ah actually mean?
Amp-hours. The reserve capacity with the engine off. 21Ah means the battery holds roughly 21 amps for one hour, or one amp for 21 hours, before it is flat.

Q: Does it ship ready to install?
No. The YTX24HL-BS ships dry-charged with a sealed acid pack. Fill, let it rest and heat-seal the lid per the Century EverRide user manual before fitting. Activation takes about an hour. A battery shop can do the activation for a small fee if you'd rather not.

Q: Can I mount it on its side?
Yes. The AGM construction is sealed so the battery can mount on any angle without spilling. Keep the vent clear and don't lay it upside down for long periods.

Q: Will my existing charger work?
Only if it has an AGM mode. A straight automotive charger pushes voltage too high for AGM, which boils off electrolyte and shortens the life. Use a smart charger with an AGM profile; Century's own CC6121.2 is the matched unit.

Q: Which bikes take a YTX24HL-BS?
Mid-displacement cruisers and tourers needing 330CCA in a long, narrow 205 × 87 × 162mm case. Common fitments include Honda Shadow VT1100, Kawasaki Vulcan VN750/VN800/VN900, Yamaha V-Star 1100, BMW R1100 and R1150 models, and older Harley-Davidson Sportster builds. Check your bike's manual or current battery label for the YTX24HL-BS fitment code.

Q: How long will it last?
Typical motorcycle AGM batteries last 3-5 years with regular use and a charger kept on during long storage. Short trips, deep discharge, and heat all shorten life. A trickle charger over winter adds years.

Q: What's the terminal type?
Terminal Type A. A round-post terminal in a square body on the standard motorcycle layout, negative on the left end and positive on the right. Matches factory fitment on YTX24HL-BS bikes.
