A sealed AGM battery sized for scooters and smaller motorcycles that need a reliable cold start without maintenance. Delivers 100 cold cranking amps and 6 amp-hours in a compact case that fits 125cc to 400cc road bikes, scooters, ATVs and small utility vehicles.

Built with lead-calcium cast grid plates and specialist AGM separators that resist vibration and extend cycle life. The VRLA spill-proof design holds the acid in a glass-mat matrix so the battery mounts up to 30° off vertical without leaking. Case is polypropylene; terminals are brass with silver plating.

Ships dry-charged with a sealed acid pack. Pour the acid in, seal the cell cover with the supplied strip, then charge at 0.6A for 4-6 hours before fitting. Once activated it stays sealed for life.

  • 100CCA cold start — turns over 125cc to 400cc engines in cold weather
  • AGM separators — holds acid in a glass mat, resists vibration damage
  • Lead-calcium plates — low self-discharge, longer shelf life between rides
  • VRLA spill-proof — mounts up to 30° off vertical without leaking
  • Silver-plated brass terminals — low resistance for stronger cranking under load
  • 400+ deep cycles — tested beyond JIS D5302 at 30% DOD and 45°C

Ships dry-charged with sealed acid pack. Activate before first fit:

1. Peel the sealed strip off the battery top to expose the six cells.

2. Place the acid pack upside down over the cells and press firmly; acid flows into each cell until the pack empties.

3. Let it stand 30 minutes for the plates to absorb the acid.

4. Press the supplied sealing strip firmly along the full length of the cell cover.

5. Charge at 0.6A for 4-6 hours (10% of the Ah rating) on a smart charger before fitting to the bike.

Confirm polarity before connecting: positive terminal on the right when viewed from the terminal face. Battery mounts up to 30° off vertical in any orientation.

Q: What does AGM actually mean?
A: Absorbent Glass Mat. A fibreglass mat between the lead plates holds the acid like a sponge, so no free liquid can leak if the case is tipped or shaken. Lets the battery mount at steep angles and survive vibration that kills flooded batteries.

Q: What does CCA actually mean?
A: Cold Cranking Amps. The current the battery delivers for 30 seconds at -18°C while holding above 7.2V. 100CCA suits engines up to roughly 400cc with normal compression.

Q: What does Ah actually mean?
A: Amp-hours. How much energy the battery stores. 6Ah means it could theoretically deliver 1A for 6 hours or 6A for 1 hour. In practice it's the reserve for running lights or accessories with the engine off.

Q: What's the difference between dry-charged and factory-activated?
A: Dry-charged (this battery) ships without acid and needs activation on arrival — pour in the supplied acid, seal, then charge. Factory-activated ships ready to install. Dry-charged batteries have a longer shelf life because they don't start self-discharging until acid is added.

Q: Does the acid come with the battery?
A: Yes. A sealed acid pack ships in the box along with a cell sealing strip and activation instructions. The acid pack holds exactly the volume this battery needs.

Q: How long does activation take?
A: About an hour of hands-on time plus a 4-6 hour charge. Five minutes to pour in the acid, 30 minutes to let the plates absorb, then 4-6 hours on a 0.6A smart charger before fitting. Running the battery without the initial charge shortens its life.

Q: What's the warranty?
A: 18 months against manufacturing defects, from the date of purchase. Covers plate failures, case cracks and premature capacity loss. Damage from under-charging, incorrect activation or sulphation from long storage isn't covered.

Q: Can I mount it on its side?
A: Up to 30° off vertical, yes — the AGM mat holds the acid in place. Beyond 30° or fully inverted the pressure-relief valve can weep. Keep it as upright as possible for longest life.

Q: How is this different from the YTX9-BS?
A: The YTX9-BS carries more cranking current (125CCA vs 100CCA) and more capacity (8Ah vs 6Ah) in a taller case (105mm vs 93mm). The YTX7A-BS suits 125-400cc engines; the YTX9-BS covers 400-600cc with headroom. Check your tray height before stepping up.
