A DPF-back exhaust replaces everything downstream of the diesel particulate filter — the DPF stays in place, the emissions certification stays intact, and the exhaust flows properly from there back. The engine breathes better, EGTs drop, and you get a noticeable improvement in low-end response and highway fuel economy. Legal, straightforward, effective.

Bigger isn't always better. A 3" DPF-back suits a 2.8L Hilux, DMAX or Fortuner. A 3.5" suits the 4.5L V8 in the 76/78/79 Series and the LC300. The 79 Series 4.5L twin-cab-only 3.5"-to-3" twin-exit is engineered for a specific application. Fit the exhaust that matches your engine — bigger diameter on a smaller engine just gives you exhaust drone and slower gas velocity.
