A right-angle nylon cable gland that seals a 5-10mm cable entry into an outdoor panel. Turns the cable 90° flat against the enclosure instead of letting it stick out behind the panel. Fits canopies, battery boxes, winch boxes, fuse boxes, trailer junction boxes and camper trailer wiring points.

The body threads into an 18.5mm panel hole from outside. Feed the cable through, tighten the compression nut, and the built-in rubber clamping ring squeezes down on the sheath to seal dust and water out. UV-stable nylon handles ongoing sun exposure without cracking.

The IP68 seal depends on the compression nut staying snug. A loose nut lets water past. Not for 240V AC mains insulation, use alongside correctly rated cable.

Gland size guide

Pick by the diameter of the cable, including its outer sheath, you're feeding through:

Gland Cable range Panel hole
EG9 4–8mm 16mm
EG11 (this one) 5–10mm 18.5mm

Pairs with

  • IP68 rated — sealed against dust and submersion, not just splashes
  • Right-angle body — keeps cable flat against the panel
  • Rubber clamping ring — compresses onto the cable sheath
  • UV-stable nylon — resists cracking from sun and weather
  • Two-piece gland — hand-tightens, no special tools

Rating

IP rating: IP68 (dust-tight, continuous submersion)

Universal
Right-angle IP68 cable gland for 5-10mm cable entries into enclosures, canopies, battery boxes, winch boxes, fuse boxes, trailer junction boxes and camper wiring points. Not vehicle-specific; suits any outdoor sealed enclosure.
12V, 24V and 48V DC automotive and marine wiring systems
Not rated as primary insulation for 240V AC mains wiring; use only as a mechanical cable entry alongside correctly rated cable

Q: What does IP68 actually mean?
A: It's a two-part rating, the 6 means fully dust-tight, the 8 means it can handle continuous submersion, not just splashes. For this gland, that's what keeps water and dust out of the cable entry even if the enclosure sits in spray or gets hosed down washing the vehicle.

Q: What cable sizes does this fit?
A: 5–10mm outer cable diameter, that covers most single automotive cables, small looms and larger multi-core runs.

Q: How do I install it?
A: Drill an 18.5mm hole in the panel, thread the gland's body in from outside, feed your cable through, then tighten the compression nut until snug. That compression is what creates the IP68 seal, a loose nut lets water in.

Q: Is the sealing ring included, or is it a separate purchase?
A: It's included, the rubber clamping ring that creates the seal is built into the gland, so there's nothing extra to buy.

Q: Can I use this on a 4WD canopy or trailer?
A: Yes, it's built for exactly that kind of outdoor, vibration-prone mount: canopies, trailer junction boxes and camper trailer wiring points.

Q: Is it safe to leave this mounted outdoors long-term?
A: Yes, the nylon body is UV-stable, so ongoing sun exposure won't crack or degrade it over time, and combined with the IP68 seal it's built for permanent outdoor mounting.

Q: What's the difference between a straight-through gland and a right-angle one like this?
A: A straight-through gland points the cable straight out from the panel; a right-angle gland like the EG11 turns the cable 90° so it runs flat against the surface instead. Pick right-angle where there's limited clearance behind the panel or you want the cable to follow the enclosure wall rather than stick out.

Q: My cable is smaller than 5mm, what do I need?
A: Step down to the 30mm EG9 gland, rated for 4–8mm cable and a 16mm panel hole.
