A bus-bar distribution block that takes one heavy DC feed and fans it out into four MIDI-fused branch circuits and one MEGA-fused main. Fits 12V and 24V systems in 4WDs, caravans, campers, boats and dual-battery builds where a fridge, DC-DC charger, aux fuse block, water pump or inverter up to about 1500W needs its own protected circuit off a single copper bus.

The MEGA position sits on an M8 stud for the main feed, the four MIDI positions use M5 studs for the branch circuits, and the whole assembly is a moulded PPA base 97 by 87mm on 98mm mounting centres. A snap-fit cover clips over the top once everything's wired to shield the live terminals from stray tools and cable off-cuts.

Rate each MIDI and MEGA fuse to its own branch load, and keep the total across all five positions inside the 200A ceiling at 12V. Rated to 32V DC, which covers 12V and 24V systems, not 48V systems.

Q: What's the difference between a MIDI fuse and a MEGA fuse?
Both are bolt-down (stud-mount) fuses for high-current DC circuits, sized differently. MIDI fuses are the smaller of the two, typically used for branch circuits up to around 175A. MEGA fuses are physically larger with a bigger stud spacing, used for higher-current main feeds. This holder gives you four MIDI positions plus one MEGA position so you can protect a mixed set of circuit sizes on one base.

Q: Does it come with fuses?
No. MIDI and MEGA fuses are sold separately so you can match the amperage to each circuit's actual load. A 40A MIDI fuse protects a very different circuit to a 300A MEGA fuse.

Q: What's the maximum current this holder handles?
Up to 200A total at 12V DC, drawn across however many of the five positions you use. It's rated to 32V DC, which comfortably covers both 12V and 24V systems.

Q: Can I use this on a 24V system?
Yes. It's rated to 32V DC, which covers 12V and 24V DC systems with margin. It's not rated for 48V DC. A 48V system needs a fuse holder built for that voltage.

Q: How do I mount it?
The base bolts down using the mounting holes on 98mm centres. The MEGA stud is M8, the four MIDI studs are M5. Use the hex nuts included and add lock washers if it's going somewhere exposed to vibration.

Q: Do I need all five positions filled?
No, leave any position unused if you don't need it. An unused stud should still be capped or properly terminated rather than left live.

Q: What's the cover for?
The snap-fit cover shields the live terminals and fuses from accidental contact and stray metal (tools, cable off-cuts) once everything's wired in. Worth fitting before the vehicle goes back into service.

Q: Is this suitable for marine use?
It's a general-purpose 12V/24V DC fuse holder in PPA plastic, which suits typical marine 12V/24V DC circuits. It's not sealed or waterproof though, so mount it somewhere it won't sit in bilge water or direct spray.

Q: Can I mix MIDI and MEGA fuses from different brands?
Yes. MIDI and MEGA are standardised fuse form factors, so any brand's MIDI or MEGA fuse fits a holder built to that standard. Just match the physical fuse type to the position; don't force a MEGA fuse into a MIDI slot or vice versa.
