A right-angle stainless mounting bracket that holds a 23 pin or 31 pin male Deutsch-style plug when there is no room for a flush recessed mount. Puts the connector on the outside of a canopy wall, tray headboard, service-body panel or electrical cabinet so the whole loom plugs in and out in one action. Fits where the sheet behind cannot be cut for a flush fit, such as thick walls, double-skinned panels, structural members or trim lining the back of the panel.

Cut from 304-grade stainless and left bare, so the surface itself is the corrosion resistance with no powder coat to chip. The flange sits flat against the panel on the mounting side; the connector face sits perpendicular on the angled leg. The 23 and 31 pin housings share the same bracket cutout, so one part covers both sizes.

The 23 pin and 31 pin plugs are sold separately; this is the bracket only. Fit the plug to the bracket on the bench before mounting the whole assembly to the panel. The pin housing clips in from behind and the strain-relief boot threads on behind.

Pairs with

  • 23 & 31 Pin fit — Takes either Deutsch housing on the same bracket cutout
  • Right-angle layout — Connector face sits perpendicular to the mounting panel
  • Bare 304 stainless — Natural brushed finish, no coating to chip
  • Surface mount — No recessed cutout needed in the panel behind
  • One-action disconnect — Whole loom unplugs in a single move
  • Elevate Perth build — Cut and formed in our Perth workshop

Right-angle mounting bracket for 23 or 31 pin Deutsch-style male plugs with boot

Q: What is a Deutsch connector?

A sealed multi-pin plug and socket pattern used in off-road, marine and industrial wiring. Two halves click together, lock with a positive latch, and keep water and dust out of the pins. Named after the Deutsch brand that invented the pattern; many manufacturers now make compatible housings in the same shape.

Q: What does 23 pin and 31 pin mean?

The number of individual wires the housing can carry. A 23 pin plug has 23 separate pins arranged in a round pattern; a 31 pin plug has 31 pins in the same outer size. Both housings share the same bracket cutout, so one bracket suits either.

Q: Does this bracket come with the Deutsch plug?

No, the bracket is sold on its own. The 23 pin and 31 pin male plug housings are separate products. Buy the bracket plus the housing you need; the housing clips into the bracket cutout from behind.

Q: Why mount a Deutsch plug externally instead of recessing it?

Recessed mounting needs an open cutout in the panel for the housing to pass through. When the sheet behind is too thick, has structural steel in the way, or carries internal trim, a surface-mounted bracket is the only way to put the connector where the loom reaches it. Common on canopy walls with internal lining, tray headboards with box-section backing, and service bodies with double-skin panels.

Q: What is the boot?

A rubber sleeve that threads onto the back of the plug and grips the loom. The boot takes strain off the pins when the wiring flexes and keeps dust and water out of the back of the connector.

Q: Do I need two brackets if I use 23 pin and 31 pin plugs on the same build?

Yes, one bracket holds one plug. Two separate plugs on the same panel means two brackets, one per cutout. The bracket itself works for either pin count.

Q: What is it made from, and why bare stainless instead of powder coat?

304-grade stainless steel, left bare with a natural brushed finish. Powder coat would hide the stainless surface and can chip in rough service, exposing the metal underneath. Bare stainless is its own corrosion protection and keeps looking right once the finish is scratched or scuffed.

Q: Does the bracket come with mounting screws?

No, pick stainless or zinc M5 or M6 screws to suit the panel. Pre-drill the holes to match the bracket mounting pattern and use nylocs or thread-lock on the back to keep the fasteners tight in vibration.

Q: Can I install it myself?

Yes, if you can mark and drill four small mounting holes and feed the loom through the panel. Fit the plug housing to the bracket on the bench first, then mount the whole assembly to the panel together; it is easier than wrestling with the plug while the bracket is already on the vehicle.

Q: Can you install it for me?

Yes, bring the vehicle or canopy to our Perth workshop. We fit Deutsch connectors to canopies, trays, service bodies and dash panels every week, and can build the matching loom if you need one.
