A flat battery hold-down bracket that clamps over an auxiliary battery and carries a MEGA fuse holder on the same mount. Secures AGM, lead-acid or lithium flat-top batteries in canopies, under-bonnet trays, caravans and camper setups, and keeps the main fuse right next to the positive terminal where the feed runs to the DC-DC or isolator.

Cut from 3mm aluminium with a powder-coated black finish for corrosion resistance in salt-spray and under-bonnet heat. The pre-cut footprint accepts a standard bolt-down MEGA fuse holder beside the battery, so the fuse mounts without extra brackets. Fixes to the vehicle tray with M8 bolts through the two end slots (bolts not supplied).

The bracket fits flat-top batteries only. Rate the MEGA fuse to the auxiliary battery's main feed, and leave 10mm clearance above the terminals so the hold-down doesn't press on the posts.

Pairs with

  • Flat-top mount — fits AGM, lead-acid or lithium flat-tops
  • MEGA position — bolt-down holder mounts beside the battery
  • 3mm aluminium — stiff enough to clamp without flex
  • Powder-coat black — holds up in salt-spray and under-bonnet heat
  • End-slot fixing — M8 bolts through two side slots
  • Short wire run — main fuse sits within 50mm of the positive post
  • Universal footprint — fits most 4WD and canopy auxiliary trays
  • 3-year warranty — Elevate warranty against manufacturing defects

Q: What does a flat-top battery actually mean?
Flat-top means the battery has a flat upper face with the terminal posts sitting at the top centre or corners of that face, with no raised plastic lip or recessed well around them. AGM auxiliary batteries, calcium starters and most lithium drop-ins sold in Australia are flat-top. DIN-cased starter batteries have a raised lip around the posts and need a raised bracket instead.

Q: Is the MEGA fuse holder included?
No. The bracket has a pre-cut mount position for a bolt-down MEGA fuse holder, but the holder is sold separately so you can pick the amperage and brand you need. The Eaton Bussmann MEGA holder in our range bolts straight into the mount position.

Q: What size MEGA fuse should I run?
Size the fuse to protect the cable, not the battery. For a 100 to 150A DC-DC feed on 25mm² cable, a 125 to 150A MEGA is standard. For a 200A inverter feed on 50mm² cable, a 200 to 250A MEGA. The fuse goes within 300mm of the positive terminal under common Australian 12V practice.

Q: What's the max current this bracket can carry?
The bracket itself doesn't carry current. The fuse holder bolted to it does. MEGA bolt-down fuse holders are rated 40A to 300A depending on the fuse fitted, and the cable connecting to them sets the actual circuit limit.

Q: What material is the bracket made from?
3mm aluminium with a powder-coated black finish. Aluminium is stiff enough to clamp a flat-top battery without flexing, and powder coat holds up in salt-spray and under-bonnet heat without rusting through the way bare steel does.

Q: Does the bracket come with bolts?
No. The right bolt length depends on the thickness of the battery tray in your vehicle, so bolts aren't supplied. Standard M8 bolts through the two end slots fit the mount pattern.

Q: Will it hold a lithium battery?
Yes, provided the lithium battery has a flat-top case and standard terminal posts. Most 100Ah and 200Ah lithium drop-ins sold in Australia are flat-top and clamp down the same way as an AGM.

Q: How far should the main fuse sit from the battery?
Common practice puts the main fuse within 300mm of the positive terminal. The MEGA mount position on this bracket sits beside the battery, well within that distance.

Q: Can I install this myself?
Yes. Bolt the bracket over the battery through the two end slots using M8 bolts, bolt the MEGA fuse holder into the pre-cut mount position, then run your main feed from the positive terminal through the fuse to the DC-DC or isolator.

Q: Can you install it for me?
Yes. Bring the vehicle to our Perth workshop and we can fit the bracket, holder, fuse and main-feed cable from the battery through to the DC-DC or isolator in one visit.
