An Eaton Bussmann HMEG single-position bolt-down fuse holder that protects one heavy DC circuit up to 300A. Takes any brand's MEGA / AMG fuse, so it fits auxiliary battery main feeds, DC-DC input or output legs, solar controller feeds, and inverter supply lines. Suits caravans, camper builds, 4WD dual-battery systems and boat helms where one high-current circuit needs its own dedicated fuse.

The holder bolts down through its base and accepts wire from 8 AWG through 2 AWG at each stud. A hinged plastic cover shields the live terminals and fuse from accidental contact, and lifts open for fuse swaps without unwiring. MEGA / AMG is a shared bolt-down fuse standard, so any brand's MEGA fuse fits.

Size each fuse to the cable it protects, not the load. Undersized cable behind an oversized fuse is a fire risk. Standard MEGA / AMG fuses are rated 32V DC, which covers 12V and 24V DC systems. Not for 48V.

MEGA (also sold as AMG in some ranges) is a bolt-down, stud-mount fuse standard used for high-current DC main feeds and heavy branch circuits, bigger and higher-rated than a blade or MIDI fuse. It's a shared industry form factor, so any brand's MEGA/AMG fuse fits a MEGA-rated holder like this one.

Q: What amperage MEGA fuse should I use?
Size the fuse to the circuit it protects, not the holder itself. Eaton's AMG range covers 10A to 300A. The right amperage depends on the cable size and load downstream. Undersized cable behind an oversized fuse is a fire risk, so size the fuse to protect the cable, not just the load.

Q: Does it come with a fuse?
No. MEGA / AMG fuses are sold separately so you can match the amperage to your circuit.

Q: What voltage systems does this cover?
Standard MEGA / AMG fuses are rated 32V DC, which covers 12V and 24V DC systems with margin. It's not rated for 48V DC systems, where you'd want a 58V-rated MEGA holder and fuse instead.

Q: What wire sizes can I connect?
Eaton lists the HMEG as accepting 8 AWG through 2 AWG on each stud, which is roughly 8mm² up to 35mm² automotive cable. Sized to carry the current the fuse allows.

Q: How's this different from the house-branded MEGA holders in our range?
