Inline weatherproof blade fuse holder for adding circuit protection to any 12V or 24V accessory install where the fuse has to survive moisture, dust and engine-bay conditions. Snap-seal cap over the fuse itself; pre-attached 6mm² automotive-grade cable each side ready to splice into your circuit.

Takes standard blade fuses — also called ATC, ATO or ATS (same fuse, different names) — from 1A to 30A. The 6mm² cable is genuinely over-spec'd for that current, which means the cable itself isn't the bottleneck even on longer runs, unlike cheaper inline holders that ship with 3mm² and start heating up above 20A.

⚠ Important: the weatherproof seal is on the fuse itself. If you splice the pre-attached cable to your circuit with bare crimp barrels, water gets in at the joints and the weatherproof rating is defeated at those points. Finish the splices with adhesive-lined dual-wall heat shrink to keep the whole install waterproof end-to-end.

You'll also need

A standard blade fuse (not included) and heat shrink to seal the splice joints:

  • Weatherproof cap — snap-seal over the fuse, keeps moisture and dust out
  • 6mm² cable — heavy gauge, no cable bottleneck to 30A
  • Inline install — splices into any 12V/24V circuit, no panel required
  • Standard blade — ATC / ATO / ATS fuses, 1A to 30A
  • Marine grade — resists corrosion and vibration
  • Universal fit — automotive, marine, caravan, 4WD

Engine bay, canopy and exposed wiring runs
Marine and caravan wiring
Aftermarket accessory circuits — lights, aux sockets, compressors, radios
48V DC systems — use a 58V-rated fuse holder instead (standard blade fuses can't safely clear a 48V arc)
High-current circuits above 30A — use a Midi or MEGA fuse holder instead

Q: What's the difference between ATC, ATO and ATS blade fuses?
They're the same fuse. Standard blade fuses (the flat colour-coded ones — red 10A, blue 15A, yellow 20A, clear 25A, green 30A) are known by three interchangeable names: ATC (Automotive Thermoplastic Case), ATO (Automotive Technology, Original) and ATS. Any of those three names on the packet fits this holder.

Q: Is this waterproof or weatherproof — what's the difference?
Weatherproof means the sealed cap keeps rain, spray, mud and dust out of the fuse compartment under normal driving and moderate marine conditions. It's not rated for full submersion (that would be IP68 waterproof). For 99% of automotive installs — engine bay, canopy, boat, caravan — weatherproof is what you want. The one gap: the seal is on the fuse itself, so the splice joints where you connect the cable to your circuit also need weatherproofing. See the note below.

Q: Does the holder come with a fuse?
No. Fuses are sold separately so you can pick the amperage that suits your circuit — a 5A LED strip needs a very different fuse than a 25A air compressor. We stock a 120-piece assorted standard blade kit with the common amperages if you don't already have one.

Q: Do I really need heat shrink on the splice for it to be weatherproof?
Yes if you want the install to actually survive weather. The holder seals against water at the fuse. But the two ends of the pre-attached cable have to join to your circuit somewhere — usually with crimp barrels. Bare crimp barrels wick water into the copper strands, which corrodes the joint and eventually breaks the circuit or drops voltage. Adhesive-lined dual-wall heat shrink shrinks down over the crimp and melts a waterproof glue lining as it heats, sealing the joint properly.

Q: What if my vehicle uses mini or micro 2 blade fuses instead?
Standard blade won't fit those slots. Modern Japanese and European vehicles often use mini blade fuses (smaller, half-height) or micro 2 fuses (smallest, tall thin profile). Check what type your vehicle uses before ordering — we stock inline holders for both mini and micro 2 as separate products.

Q: Why is the cable 6mm² if the fuse only goes to 30A?
Because 6mm² (roughly 10 AWG) is genuinely over-spec'd for 30A and that's a good thing. Cheaper inline holders ship with 3mm² or 4mm² cable which is fine at 15A but starts dropping voltage and warming up above 20A on longer runs. The heavier cable means the cable itself is never the bottleneck — the fuse blows before the cable stresses.

Q: Can I use this on a 24V system?
Yes. Standard blade fuses are rated to 32V DC, and the holder and cable are automotive DC spec — works fine on 12V, 24V and any DC system up to 32V.
