Bolt-down cartridge holder for a single MEGA/AMG fuse. Two M8 studs, a clear cover to keep terminals free of dust and accidental contact, and an integrated spare-fuse pocket on the side so a replacement travels with the holder. Sized for the 40A to 300A MEGA range. Any brand of MEGA cartridge fits (Cooper Bussmann, Littelfuse, Blue Sea and every commodity MEGA share the same 44mm stud footprint).

Suits any 12V or 24V DC system where a bolt-down fuse is needed on a battery main, alternator sub-feed, inverter feed, or high-current auxiliary trunk. The clear cover matters on any exposed under-bonnet install; it stops a spanner or stray wire from shorting a terminal to chassis.

Size

126 x 44 x 37mm, 0.11kg. Two M8 studs on the base, 44mm stud centres to match the standard MEGA footprint.

Fits

Any MEGA/AMG cartridge fuse rated 40A to 300A. Rated to 32V DC, so covers 12V and 24V systems. For 48V systems, use a holder rated to 58V DC. For LiFePO4 primary-battery-side protection, use a Class T holder instead. MEGA cannot safely clear the short-circuit current of a lithium bank.

Q: What does MEGA actually mean?
MEGA is Cooper Bussmann's high-current bolt-down cartridge fuse, also called AMG or AMI-M by other brands. Two M8 studs on 44mm centres, ceramic body, rated 32V DC. Sized for battery mains and alternator feeds where 40A to 300A protection is needed.

Q: What fuses fit this holder?
Any MEGA/AMG cartridge in the 40A to 300A range from Cooper Bussmann, Littelfuse, Blue Sea, or the commodity market. The footprint is standard. Our own MEGA fuses fit this holder:
[series-of-mega-fuse]

Q: Do MEGA and MIDI fuses fit the same holder?
No. Different sizes, different stud centres. MIDI uses 30mm M5 stud centres; MEGA uses 44mm M8 stud centres. See our MIDI holder if you need MIDI protection:
[midi-fuses-fuse-holder-for-30-80a]

Q: Is the fuse included?
No, the fuse is sold separately so you can pick the amperage for your circuit. See our MEGA fuse range:
[series-of-mega-fuse]

Q: When should I use a MEGA holder vs an ANL holder?
MEGA covers 40A to 300A on a 44mm M8 stud footprint. ANL covers 100A to 500A on an 89mm M8 stud footprint and is physically larger. Pick MEGA up to about 300A; step to ANL for higher currents or where the marine-industry ANL form factor is preferred:
[series-of-anl-fuses]

Q: Can I use this on a LiFePO4 primary battery?
Not recommended. Lithium banks can deliver tens of kiloamps into a short circuit, which MEGA fuses cannot safely interrupt. Use a Class T fuse and holder on the primary battery side of any LiFePO4 install. MEGA is fine on the load side of a Class T, or on non-lithium systems.

Q: What size cable should I use with this holder?
Match the cable to the fuse amperage, not to the holder. Starting guide: 100A/6mm², 150A/16mm², 200A/25mm², 250A/35mm², 300A/50mm². Cable size is set by the maximum current that will flow, not by the fuse alone.

Q: Can I use this on a 48V system?
No, this holder is rated to 32V DC. For 48V nominal systems (up to about 58V during charging) you need a holder rated to 58V DC.

Q: Can I use this on 240V AC mains?
No, this is a DC-rated automotive holder. Mains-voltage installation must be done by a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000. Elevate is EC17073 licensed (Building & Energy WA) if you need the work done.

Q: Is the housing waterproof?
Not IP-rated by the supplier. The clear cover keeps out dust and stops accidental shorts, but the body is not sealed against water ingress. Mount in a dry, protected location.
