A stainless steel under-bonnet bracket that holds an SB50 Anderson plug and cover ready for solar input. Feeds a folding solar panel or blanket through to a Redarc BCDC, Projecta IDC25 or Victron Orion-Tr DC-DC charger via the Anderson. Fits any 4WD, ute, van or caravan with a vacant factory bolt point in the engine bay.

Laser-cut and folded from 304 stainless in Elevate's Perth workshop, uncoated with a natural brushed finish. The pre-cut aperture suits a standard SB50 Anderson housing with the hinged cover clipped in. Mounts to a factory firewall or inner-guard bolt point so there's no drilling into the body panel.

The bracket holds the connector only; the Anderson plug and cover are sold separately. Keep solar input amperage inside what your DC-DC charger accepts at its MPPT solar input and inside the SB50's 50-amp ceiling.

Pairs with

  • 304 stainless steel — corrosion-resistant uncoated finish
  • SB50 pre-cut — holds Anderson plug and cover
  • No-drill mount — uses factory bolt point
  • Perth fabricated — laser-cut and folded in-house
  • Solar-ready — feeds panel or blanket to DC-DC
  • Universal fit — most 4WDs, utes, vans and caravans
  • Compact profile — sits close to the panel it mounts to

Under-bonnet bracket holding an SB50 Anderson plug for solar input
Any 12V or 24V vehicle with a vacant factory engine-bay bolt point
4WDs, utes, vans and caravans with space to mount near the DC-DC charger

Q: What is a solar input bracket?
A: It is a mount that holds an SB50 Anderson plug near the engine bay so a solar panel or blanket can plug straight into the vehicle's DC-DC charger. Keeps the connection off the ground, out of the dirt, and ready to go when you set up camp.

Q: What does SB50 mean?
A: SB50 is the standard trade name for the 50-amp grey two-pin Anderson Powerpole-style connector that most 4WD and caravan solar setups use. SB stands for Single Battery and 50 is the rated continuous amperage.

Q: Does this come with the Anderson plug and cover?
A: No. The bracket is the mount only. Pick up the SB50 Anderson housing and the hinged cover separately. They clip into the pre-cut aperture.

Q: Will it fit my vehicle?
A: It mounts to any vacant factory bolt point in the engine bay or inner guard, so it suits most 4WDs, utes, vans and SUVs with clearance for the plug and cover. Check that you have a bolt point within reach of the DC-DC charger's solar input lead.

Q: Do I need to drill the body panel?
A: No. The bracket uses an existing factory bolt point so the body panel stays intact. Pick a bolt that is not holding a critical component in place.

Q: What is the bracket made of?
A: 304 stainless steel, laser-cut and folded in Elevate's Perth workshop. Natural brushed finish, uncoated. 304 stainless shrugs off engine-bay heat, moisture and road spray without flaking the way a powder coat on mild steel can.

Q: Can I plug a solar panel straight into it?
A: The bracket holds the SB50 Anderson connector. The solar lead plugs into one side of the connector and a lead from your DC-DC charger plugs into the other. The actual solar-to-battery regulation happens inside the DC-DC charger, which has the MPPT regulator built in.

Q: What solar panel size can I feed through this?
A: Anything inside the SB50 Anderson's 50-amp ceiling and inside your DC-DC charger's accepted solar input. A 100-200W folding blanket or portable panel is the typical setup. Larger permanent arrays usually get their own larger Anderson or a dedicated solar controller.

Q: Will it rust under the bonnet?
A: 304 stainless resists corrosion from engine-bay heat, moisture, salt-spray and road grime. The uncoated brushed finish shows up any surface wear but does not flake like a powder coat can on mild steel.

Q: Can I install it myself?
A: Yes. A ten-minute job with a socket set once you have picked a factory bolt point to use. Bring it to our Perth workshop if you would rather have it wired into a full BCDC setup at the same time.
