A behind-grille mounting bracket that bolts a Redarc BCDC in-vehicle charger into the engine bay of a Toyota Landcruiser 300 Series without a drill. Takes BCDC1225D, BCDC1240D and BCDC1250D chargers; mounts them in front of the radiator where airflow across the heatsink helps the charger stay cool. Fits GX, GXL, VX and GR Sport trims from 2021 on.

Laser-cut and folded from 304 stainless steel in Perth, powder-coat black. Uses the factory grille-support bolt points, so no new holes in the vehicle. Supplied with the stainless fasteners needed to bolt the charger to the bracket and the bracket to the vehicle.

Mount the bracket first, then run cable from the main battery through to the charger location before bolting the charger down. Fuse the main-battery feed at the source per Redarc's install guide. The bracket itself is a passive mount and carries no electrical load.

Pairs with

  • No drilling — bolts to factory grille-support points
  • 304 stainless steel — corrosion-proof under the bonnet
  • Powder-coat black — low-glare finish, scratch-resistant
  • Behind grille — airflow across the charger heatsink
  • Perth-made — laser-cut and folded in-house
  • All LC300 trims — GX, GXL, VX, GR Sport
  • Stainless hardware — bolts for both ends of the install
  • BCDC compatible — fits BCDC1225D, 1240D and 1250D

Q: What does this bracket actually do?
A: It gives a Redarc BCDC in-vehicle charger a solid mounting point in the engine bay of a Toyota Landcruiser 300 Series. The charger bolts to the bracket, the bracket bolts to the factory grille-support points, and the whole assembly sits behind the grille where airflow across the heatsink helps the charger run cool.

Q: What's a BCDC and why do I need one?
A: A BCDC is Redarc's in-vehicle DC-to-DC battery charger. It takes power from the alternator (and solar, on the solar-input models) and charges an auxiliary battery properly, matched to the chemistry you've got. Any 4WD running an aux battery for a fridge, inverter or camp lights wants one; without it, the aux battery doesn't fully charge off the alternator.

Q: Which Redarc BCDC chargers does it fit?
A: Suits the BCDC1225D (25A), BCDC1240D (40A) and BCDC1250D (50A) Classic range. Mounting hole pattern is designed around those three units. Check the charger's own mounting dimensions before buying if you have a different model.

Q: Does it need drilling?
A: No. The bracket uses the factory grille-support bolt points that are already there, so no new holes in the vehicle.

Q: Why mount it behind the grille?
A: Airflow. BCDC chargers run warm when they're pushing full current, and they derate (slow the charge down) when they get too hot. Behind the grille they get constant airflow from vehicle motion and from the engine fan, so they stay in their efficient operating range longer. It also keeps the engine bay tidier than mounting on the inner guard.

Q: Will it fit my 200 Series?
A: No. The 200 Series has a different engine bay layout and different factory bolt points. This bracket is specific to the 300 Series. The 200 Series uses a different mount — contact us if you need one and we'll point you at the right part.

Q: What hardware comes with it?
A: Stainless fasteners for both ends of the install — bolts to attach the Redarc BCDC to the bracket, and bolts to attach the bracket to the factory grille-support points.

Q: Will it fit my GX, GXL, VX or GR Sport?
A: Yes. The factory grille-support bolt points are shared across all 300 Series trim levels (GX, GXL, VX, GR Sport). The bracket uses the same points on all four.

Q: Does it block airflow to the radiator?
A: The bracket is designed to sit alongside the main airflow path, not across it. The charger body does take up some space in front of the radiator but Redarc BCDCs are compact enough that there's no measurable impact on cooling in normal driving. If you're planning serious high-load touring (big van, 40°+ ambient), talk to our workshop about placement options.

Q: Can your workshop fit this?
A: Yes. We run a 4WD-electrical workshop in Perth and fit Redarc BCDCs on 300 Series Landcruisers regularly. We can supply the bracket, the charger, the cable, and do the install, or supply the kit for your own installer.
