A 12V battery management system that charges an auxiliary battery from vehicle alternator, solar panels and 240V mains at the same time, up to 100A combined. Runs a fridge, lights, inverter, water pump and 12V accessories on auxiliary batteries in caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes, large 4WD touring builds and off-grid rigs.

The main unit is a 400 by 154 by 120mm cast enclosure, 6.1kg, with the DC-DC charger, AC charger, solar MPPT regulator and shunt-based battery monitor on one board. The included RedVision touchscreen reads state-of-charge, input source, load draw and fault alerts on a 4.3-inch dash-mount display. The Redarc app runs the same monitoring over Bluetooth 5.1 up to 42m. Compatible battery chemistries: AGM, gel, calcium, standard lead-acid and lithium (standard and heated).

Output is 12V only. Alternator and solar inputs sit between 9 and 32V DC; mains input accepts 95 to 264V AC on 45 to 65Hz. Fuse the start battery input, aux battery output, solar input and AC input per Redarc's install manual. Hardwiring the 240V mains input is a licensed-electrician job under AS/NZS 3000; Elevate holds EC17073 and runs the full install from our Perth workshop.

Mount the Alpha100 flat in a dry, sheltered location away from heat sources, with airflow around the finned enclosure. Not sealed to IP67, so engine-bay mounting is not suitable; typical install locations are a caravan battery box, under a camper trailer dinette seat, inside a 4WD canopy or in a van's electrical cabinet.

Wire the start-battery input from the vehicle alternator, the solar input from a 9-32V DC array, the AC input from the 240V mains source, and the output to the 12V auxiliary battery via the included shunt. Fuse every input and output as close to the source as possible, with cable sizes and fuse ratings taken from Redarc's install manual (full-current paths at 100A need 25mm² or heavier on short runs, larger again on long runs).

On smart-alternator and stop-start vehicles, hardwire the ignition trigger so the DC-DC side only runs with the engine running. The RedVision display mounts in a 118 by 70mm cut-out on the dash, bulkhead or wall.

The 240V mains input is a hardwired connection and must be installed by a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000. Elevate holds EC17073 (Licensed Electrical Contractor, Building and Energy WA) and runs the full install from our Perth workshop — the AC side, the DC side and the RedVision display mount in one job.

Q: What does Battery Management System (BMS) actually mean?
A: A battery management system is one unit that handles every way an auxiliary battery can be charged. The Alpha100 combines a DC-DC charger (from the alternator), an AC mains charger and a solar MPPT regulator on one board, with a shunt-based monitor telling you how much power is going in and out.

Q: What does DC-DC charger actually mean?
A: A DC-DC charger takes power from one DC source (the vehicle alternator) and converts it to the correct charge profile for a different battery. In the Alpha100 it is one of three charge inputs, running at up to 100A combined with the AC and solar inputs.

Q: What does MPPT actually mean?
A: Maximum Power Point Tracking is the solar regulator finding the sweet spot where the panel delivers the most watts for the conditions. The Alpha100 has an MPPT solar input that accepts 9-32V DC from a 12V or 24V panel array.

Q: What is RedVision?
A: RedVision is Redarc's dash-mount touchscreen that reads the Alpha100's state of charge, input source (alternator, AC or solar), load draw and fault alerts without needing a phone. The display is included with this unit and mounts in a 118 by 70mm cut-out on the dash or bulkhead.

Q: Does it work with lithium batteries?
A: Yes. The Alpha100 ships with Redarc's standard and heated lithium charge profiles, along with AGM, gel, calcium and standard lead-acid. Pick the profile from the RedVision display or the Redarc app.

Q: Can I run it off solar only?
A: Yes. The Alpha100 runs from any one of its three inputs on its own, or from any combination of them in parallel. Green Power Priority uses the solar input first when the sun is on the array.

Q: Does it work with smart alternators?
A: Yes, on late-model stop-start and variable-voltage vehicles the DC-DC side needs a hardwired ignition trigger so it only runs with the engine running. Our workshop fits that as part of the install.

Q: Can I install it in the engine bay?
A: No. Unlike the BCDC Alpha chargers, the Manager Alpha is not sealed to IP67 and takes a 240V mains input, so it mounts in a dry, sheltered location (caravan battery box, camper dinette, 4WD canopy, van electrical cabinet) rather than under the bonnet.

Q: How big an auxiliary battery bank can it support?
A: Up to around 800Ah of 12V storage, depending on the charge rate you want to maintain. For most touring builds (two 100Ah lithiums, a 170Ah lithium) the Alpha100 is comfortably oversized and charges fast.

Q: Who hardwires the 240V mains side?
A: Under AS/NZS 3000 a 240V mains input must be hardwired by a licensed electrician. Elevate holds EC17073 (Building and Energy WA) and does the full install from our Perth workshop — AC side, DC side and the RedVision display in one job.

Q: What's the warranty?
A: 2-year Redarc warranty against manufacturing defects, when installed per Redarc's instructions. Repair or replacement handled through Redarc directly.
