The 23-Pin Female Plug with Boot handles up to 23 separate circuits through one weather-resistant connection, making it the backbone of removable canopies, tray builds, service bodies and any modular electrical system that needs to disconnect and reconnect cleanly.

The plug uses the Deutsch DT-family form factor, so it mates with the matching male half using standard SZ16 solid contacts. Contacts are sold separately, letting you fit whatever wire gauge your loom actually runs. The rear boot provides strain relief on the cable bundle and adds a second sealing barrier where the wiring exits the plug body.

This is the female half of the plug pair. It houses socket contacts (the 0462 family). The mating male half fits pin contacts (the 0460 family). Both halves need the same number of contacts fitted for the pair to lock together cleanly.

Multi-circuit quick-disconnect plug for canopy, tray, cabinet and industrial looms
12V, 24V, 36V and 48V DC systems
Not for 240V AC mains wiring
Not for single high-current circuits over about 13 A per contact (use an Anderson-style connector instead)

Q: How many circuits can I run through one plug?
23 separate circuits, one per cavity, each contact rated to around 13 A. Well suited to lighting circuits, accessory power, sensor signals and control wiring, so anything low-to-medium current. A single high-current run (winch, battery main, starter feed) belongs on an Anderson-style connector instead.

Q: What contacts do I need to fit this plug?
SZ16 solid sockets, one per cavity you want to use. Empty cavities take sealing plugs to keep the environmental seal intact.

Q: Is this a genuine Deutsch (TE Connectivity) plug?
Deutsch-style, not genuine TE-branded. Uses the same DT-family cavity spacing and contact size, so genuine TE SZ16 solid contacts fit the same as our Autowire-sourced ones. Ask us if you need a genuine TE-branded plug.

Q: Do I need the boot?
The boot is included in this kit and clips over the rear of the plug to seal the cable exit. Leave it off only if the plug will sit inside a further-sealed enclosure.

Q: What size wire fits each contact?
18-16 AWG or 14 AWG depending on which contact you fit. See Socket contacts to suit this plug above for both size options.

Q: Male or female (which side is this)?
Female. Houses socket contacts. The mating half is the male 23-pin plug (fitted with pin contacts).

Q: What voltage does the plug carry?
12, 24 and 48 V DC systems. Not for 240 V AC.

Q: Can I use fewer than 23 contacts?
Yes. Fit contacts only in the cavities you need and put sealing plugs in the rest so the seal stays intact.

Q: How do I fit contacts into the cavities?
After crimping, push each contact home from the rear until the shoulder clicks past the internal spring finger. Give a gentle pull to confirm retention has engaged.
