A twin MIDI fuse holder that saves the second holder and the extra length of cable. One power feed lands on the shared bus bar input, and the two output studs each protect their own circuit through a MIDI fuse in the 30A to 150A range.

The hinged cover is included, and the whole assembly bolts through the base for a fixed install. 12V and 24V DC. Body is black nylon, and the studs are M5 for both the fuse and the ring terminals.

Fits

MIDI fuses (also called AMI or ANS) on 30mm bolt spacing, from 30A up to 150A. Same fuse family as a single MIDI holder, just doubled up with a shared input.

Size

135mm long, 90mm wide, 40mm tall including the cover. 0.25kg. Cable enters at the shared bus bar end and exits from each output stud independently.

Twin MIDI fuse holder with shared bus bar input.
12V and 24V automotive, marine, caravan and 4WD DC systems
Two independent circuits from a single main feed (dual battery house circuits, split accessory feeds)

Not for 240V AC mains circuits
Not for currents above 150A — step up to a MEGA or ANL holder

Q: What does MIDI actually mean?
MIDI (also called AMI or ANS) is a bolt-down cartridge fuse format sized between the plug-in Maxi blade and the larger MEGA. Two studs on 30mm centres hold the fuse to the holder, and MIDI fuses cover 30A up to 200A depending on the holder rating. This twin holder is rated to 150A per position.

Q: How does the shared bus bar input work?
The two fuse positions each have their own output stud, but they share one input stud at the far end via an internal bus bar. One main feed cable lands on the input, and each output goes to its own protected circuit. Saves the second holder and the extra length of cable, and keeps the wiring neater.

Q: What fuses fit this holder?
Any MIDI fuse (also sold as AMI or strip fuse) with 30mm bolt spacing between the mounting holes, in the 30A to 150A range. See the Related section for the MIDI fuse itself.

Q: MIDI vs MEGA holders, which do I need?
MIDI covers up to about 200A on a smaller footprint. MEGA covers 40A to 500A on a larger footprint and takes physically bigger fuses. If the circuit draws more than 150A move up to a MEGA holder. If both circuits are under 150A each and share a common feed, this twin MIDI does the job.

Q: Do I have to run both circuits or can I use just one?
Both positions can be used independently, or just one at a time. The unused position stays empty and the cover isolates the shared bus bar. It is fine to install this holder now and fit the second fuse and cable later.

Q: How do I size the fuse and cable?
Size the fuse to the cable, not to the load. A 100A load on cable rated to 130A takes a 100A fuse. Common pairings: 30A on 10 AWG / 8mm² cable; 60A on 6 AWG / 13mm²; 100A on 4 AWG / 21mm²; 150A on 2 AWG / 33mm².

Q: Can I mount this anywhere in the vehicle?
Mount it somewhere accessible, dry, and away from direct engine bay heat. The cover keeps debris off the studs, but this is not a waterproof holder. If it needs to sit in wheel-arch spray or an under-body location, use a waterproof MIDI holder instead.

Q: Can I use this on 240V AC mains?
No. MIDI holders are DC-only. 240V AC circuits need HRC fuses or RCBOs installed by a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000. Elevate is EC17073 (Building & Energy WA) if you need that side of the work done properly.

Q: Is this the same as the single MIDI holder?
Same MIDI fuse footprint, same 32V DC rating, same 30mm centres. The difference is the second fuse position and the shared input bus bar. If you only need one circuit protected, use the single holder in the Related section.
