Standard-format automotive blade fuses in every amperage from 3A through to 30A. Same SAE J1284 shape used in aftermarket auxiliary fuse blocks and in-line holders, colour-coded to the SAE convention so the rating is legible on the fuse body without a chart.

Sold individually so you can top up whichever rating you need rather than buying a full kit for a single blown fuse. For a starter set that covers the common ratings in one purchase, see the 120-piece kit below.

Size guide

Every variant is the same standard-format blade fuse (approximately 19mm wide, 5mm thick, 18mm tall) with two flat terminal blades. Pick the amperage by matching the blown fuse you are replacing, or by sizing to the smallest cable in the circuit you are protecting.

Amperage Colour Typical cable Common uses
3A Violet 0.5mm Instrument sensors, low-current signal lines
5A Tan 0.5mm Dash lighting, single LED strips
7.5A Brown 0.75mm Interior fans, small pumps
10A Red 1mm Aux socket circuits, radio feeds, small LED bars
15A Blue 1.5mm Reverse-camera and rear worklight feeds, USB banks
20A Yellow 2mm Compressor fridge circuits, single driving-light feed
25A Clear (natural) 2.5mm Heavier accessory branches, single high-output LED bar
30A Green 3mm Fuse-block trunk feeds, air-compressor circuits

Ratings above 30A need a Maxi blade or a MIDI/MEGA cartridge, not a standard blade.

Standard SAE J1284 blade fuse. Fits any 12V or 24V DC automotive or marine circuit using a standard-format fuse block or in-line holder.
12V and 24V DC systems
48V DC systems (needs 58V-rated fuse)
240V AC mains, never suitable for household or mains circuits

Q: What does SAE J1284 actually mean?
That's the industry standard covering standard (ATO/ATC) blade fuses. It sets the physical size, the voltage ceiling (32V DC) and the colour-coding you see on the fuse body. Every standard-format fuse block and every off-the-shelf blade fuse follows this same standard.

Q: What does fast-acting mean, and does it matter?
A fast-acting fuse opens the circuit within milliseconds when it sees more current than its rating. That's what you want protecting wiring: it beats the cable to melting temperature. Time-delay (slow-blow) fuses are a separate class for motor loads with high inrush, and are not what these are.

Q: Which amperage should I pick?
Match the amperage on the blown fuse you're replacing. If you're wiring a new circuit, size the fuse to protect the smallest cable in the run: about 5A for 0.5mm cable, 10A for 1mm, 15A for 1.5mm, 20A for 2mm, 30A for 3mm. Never fit a higher rating than the cable can carry.

Q: What do the colours mean?
Standard SAE colours: violet 3A, tan 5A, brown 7.5A, red 10A, blue 15A, yellow 20A, clear 25A, green 30A. Same for every manufacturer of standard-format blade fuses.

Q: Can I fit a higher-amp fuse if this one keeps blowing?
No. A repeatedly blown fuse means either the circuit is drawing more than the cable can safely carry, or there's a short somewhere. A larger fuse hides the fault long enough for the wiring to overheat and start a fire. Diagnose the load, upsize the cable if needed, then match the fuse to the cable.

Q: Will these fit in 12V household or caravan mains circuits?
No. Standard blade fuses are rated to 32V DC. They must never be used on 240V AC mains. Mains circuits use MCBs, RCBOs or ceramic HRC fuses in a switchboard, and installation is a licensed-electrician job.

Q: What's the difference between standard and mini blade fuses?
Size. Standard blade fuses are the older 19mm-wide format used in most vehicles up to about the early 2000s and still standard in aftermarket auxiliary fuse blocks. Mini blade fuses are 10.9mm wide and are what most modern vehicles use in the OEM fuse box. They are not interchangeable. Check the shape of the fuse socket before ordering.

Q: Do these work in an EGON DC-Hub?
Yes. The EGON DC-Hub and most auxiliary fuse blocks (Blue Sea, Narva, Projecta) all take standard-format blade fuses.

Q: Are they reusable?
No. Once a fuse has cleared a fault, the fusible element inside has melted. Replace it with a new one of the same rating.
